to all the people who think dressing alt/being a part of the alt subculture is too expensive: tiktok has rotted your brain.
you don't have to buy expensive clothes. do what people did in the 80s and 90s. go to the thrift store, get some cheap shit & fuck it up with scissors and thread. make your own patches out of old t-shirts. make a top by cutting the crotch out of a pair of tights. make pins out of bottle caps. dye your own hair. rip holes in things. whatever you do, do not go purchase distressed clothes. CUT THAT SHIT UP YOURSELF. trust me there is nothing more satisfying than sitting on the floor at midnight absolutely flaying a sweater that used to be your mom's. it's also free.
alt isn't expensive & diy culture is the soul of it. now for the love of god go have fun.
