I think its amazing that you wanna learn my language! im always so surprised when someone even wants to try and I always tell them to keep going and so im gonna tell you to keep going as well! if you need any help I'm right here. 😊

I’m really scared to learn Dutch.

I recently fell in love with it and have started the basics but yet Dutch people hate it so much and will always refuse to speak Dutch with me when I’m learning and on top of that the language doesn’t look like it’ll be surviving very long what with Dutch people’s attitudes towards it so I’m kind of torn on what to do. I’m already learning Icelandic which is a language vulnerable to English as well but the difference is, Icelanders are proud of their language and interested in saving it if they have the ability to. That’s why I kept my motivation to learn Icelandic. Dutch people on the other hand just suck and absolutely don’t care. Are there any Dutch speakers out there who disagree with me on this because if you believe that I am wrong and that Dutch people actually do want to help people learn their language and help it survive in the future then I will by all means learn it. But if not I’m going to move on to a language that has a chance and whose native speakers won’t make my learning experience negative and miserable, so….Advice? Experiences? I really don’t want to give this language up but the native speakers just irritate me a lot. (No offense meant to Dutch people that actually LOVE their language, as they should, I only mean to offend the ones that think the gross boring language of Donald Trump aka English is better than their epic mother tongue)
