As far as friends went, Dabi was probably the last person anyone would expect Levi to be friends with. Maybe that's why they worked well as friends. Dabi helped remind Levi to actually have fun once in a while.

"You doing anything fun this summer?" Levi wasn't particularly good at small talk, even now. But he always made an effort. "Everyone at work keeps talking about family trips. I'm kind of jealous."

"oh, well sure why not, i haven't eaten anyway." hugh chuckled a bit as their hands rested in their lap. "why'd she lie? it's only food."

"my mom dropped off a lasagna earlier if you want some." Mark offered to Hugh as the two sat in his living room. "Claimed she'd accidentally made extra. Not sure how you can accidentally make a 4 pound lasagna especially when she had a thing of homemade garlic bread on top of it too."

"kay kay." tate swayed a bit on their feet, trying to be patient while cory finished up their work. instead he started walking around the office, peeking at anything and everything he could see. "that's annoying, too bad you can't tell them to screw off for basically screwing off themselves."

"Give me five minutes and we can head out." Cory said glancing up for a moment from their computer to where Tate was standing, they'd invited him out to go to lunch with them sometime this week the week prior, and solidifying today as the day over the weekend. "Someone decided to send a last minute email on a deadline." there was an annoyance to their tone as they went back to it.

"i wanted to surprise you and bring you lunch while i'm on lunch." nemo was working a double shift today so she was able to take a bit longer than a usual one, hugging her mom in return with a smile. she set the food down on a desk to hug her better before finally pulling back. "are you done for the day already?"

It had been a good day overall. The kids hadn't been too rowdy so she took whatever win she could. She was cleaning up her class room when she her shuffling at the door. Thinking it was one of her students and when she turned and saw her daughter she lit up and rushed over to give her a big hug "Oh sweetie! Hi I wasn't expecting to see you today! what are you doing here?" She needed this. She needed to see her pocket of sunshine.

birdie was familiar with the regulars who came around and algernon was no different, it's why she already had his black coffee ready by the time he reached the counter. "already ready for you," she said putting the coffee down and going to the pastry case to get the danish. "what's the book of choice today?" birdie asked, bagging the danish and taking it to the counter to give to him.

Like most people Algernon had a favorite spot to frequent when it came to getting a cup of coffee and taking a moment to themselves. However, unlike most people Algernon's just happened to be in the local museum. Even on days when he didn't find himself perusing the halls of the museum itself he would come to cafe with a book or a notepad, sometimes staying only a few hours, and others finding himself there til closing time.

"Just a black coffee" Algernon requested as it was his turn at the counter, the same thing he ordered every time. He glanced down at his watch as he went to take his wallet out, taking note of the time. "and a Danish" he added on.

"oh, why yes that would be lovely." evelyn said giving a nod and a quick thanks. she didn't drink at the bar often, especially by herself but sometimes it was nice just to get out. "next round will be on me, it's been some time since we've seen each other."

"Buy you a new drink?" Rudyard asked his friend and fellow colleague, spotting her empty glass. He took a drink of his own after. He typically only drank when out, having opted to not keep any in the house once Kelly had started his recovery, even if he didn't live with him.

"i've been good, you haven't missed much though except the usual shit of hawk being annoyed by fallon and vis versa." aaron was used to his dad disappearing while working on whatever his project was at that time. it never bothered him cause he got to spend time with him when he was done. "how's your work going?"

"So tell me how have you been? What have I missed this week? Anything interesting?" Rowan asked, having locked himself away once again in order to focus on his work. He'd finally gotten to the point where he would be able to start tests on it, so while not quite finished it did mean he was at a point to come out into the world again. If only for a little while.

birdie laughed and shook her head at her brothers comment, "it could be worse, they could've started doing this stuff in california or arizona. i'll take a heatwave in the 90's than almost a hundred and twenty." she did agree though that it was hot, it's why she was in a crop top and shorts and was possibly planning on going swimming later. "how are you. . . truthfully?"

Ziggy didn't really like being outside during the day, but occasionally he'd make an exception. His backpack was resting at his feet; paint spattered and falling apart, but he loved it. He had leftover spray paint on his hands and shoes, but he was hoping his sister wouldn't comment on it.

"It's hot as balls here," he huffed. "I wish our parents would have at least picked a more hospitable place to banish me to. I'm not built for this kind of heat."

reggie wasn't necessarily indifferent about rusty anymore, sure he was pissed as hell when he first saw his brother but after some time he was able to calm down about the situation. plus he had other things to worry about than being mad at him.

"hey," he greeted back, setting the menu down. "yeah that. . . sounds like a good idea honestly. i have a lot of questions." that he hopped would get answered.

Things with Reggie still felt very tough and go. Rusty wasn't really sure how to make small talk, or even what to say; where to start. He hadn't done much but occasionally surprise his brother with coffee as a form of an olive branch, but now he was hoping to sit down and actually try to hash things out so that Reggie could understand why Rusty had stayed away for so long.

"Hey," he flashed his brother a nervous grin when he joined him at the table. "As usual, it'll be my treat. Since I have a lot of time to make up for. I just thought maybe.... we could actually talk. Try to figure out..... everything."

raymond stared at her, blinking a few times as the words barely processed. "no. . .? hey you're real right like i'm not trippin' balls am i? this last week i feel like i've been doing nothing but trippin out but also sober? i think? i'm pretty sure i'm sober, i don't actually know anymore."

"You're hard to track down, you know that?" Bri'elle's voice was irritable. She was doing her best to try to pull the family back together - despite no one asking her to do that - and Raymond was almost as hard to find as Chris (except she knew he was alive). "So, what, your new life makes you too cool to make time for your sister anymore?" The irritation had faded into an almost pleading tone. She missed the days when the family was together, and it felt like every day they all got further apart.

"i deal with those people by smiling and nodding, always say i'll report it to the manager and then never do. the only time i do is when the manager that's in is in on the joke with me, it's kind of like a game for us at this point."

"It's begun," Denver was half hanging over the gate as she groaned. "I love this job, but sometimes the summer rush makes me feel like walking out on it all. Do you know how often I'm blamed for kids hurling? Ma'am, you're the one that stuffed them full of popcorn before putting them on a roller coaster."

"hey auntie!" nemo greeted and slid a menu towards her on the table, she wasn't sure if she was going to eat but it was there if she wanted to. "i'm doing well, how are you? any big adventures planned?"

"Heya, kid," Holly greeted as she slid into a seat by the counter. "I was at the bazaar nearby scouting some new artists, and I figured since I was in the area already, I didn't want to miss the chance to check in on my favourite niece. How are you doing?"

raymond was holding the wrench, though he was very distracted and couldn't figure out why, he just was. "hm? oh sorry," he mumbled handing over the wrench to her finally, "i don't know, i can't shake this feeling that somethings wrong. can't figure out what though."

"Wrench," Shock called out without looking up, holding out her hand to the side when she could sense a presence next to her. After some more tinkering, she emerged from under the hood of the car and wiped her hands on her pants, giving Raymond a curious look. "What's up with you today, boy? You look like you've seen a fucking ghost."

"you know i did." fallon said with her own smirk, plopping down next to her after she grabbed the beer and opened it. "i had a glitter bomb sent to his office, made sure it had a persons name he knew on it and made it look like medical supplies. saw him leaving his stupid clinic covered in glitter, it was amazing."

isaac hadn't seen mona go inside the storage closet, he was genuinely there to grab some extra supplies but when he walked in on her, he instinctively closed the door again and stayed outside the room. at least for a few seconds because he didn't feel right. he reopened the door, stepping inside and closing it behind him. "are um, are you okay?"

Mona wasn't entirely sure what had happened. She was usually good at keeping her anxiety out of the workplace (she refused to call it a panic attack), but as she gripped the shelf in the storage closet she had ducked into, she could feel the tunnel vision set in as she struggled to breathe. Hearing the door open, she waved vaguely in their direction without looking at whoever came in. "Sorry! I'm fine! Just... Need a minute..."

"he probably does, could be his way of flirting with you, you know how like kids did that shit in middle school." was she calling him immature? maybe a teensy bit but it was funny. "it's going good i guess? he comes over, we hook up then we continue to hang out and yes. like his photography is just his hobby but he still works with cameras for his job so i guess also no."

He'd never really settled into being a big brother, feeling more like a weird mashup of one and a older uncle. "How's it going with your...cameraman? Photography is just his hobby right?"
