I think it’s actually really touching how noticeably different Alistair and Morrigan’s tones are when they talk to each other now… especially for the part where it’s his kid.  Looks like they’ve grown up a lot.  :)

I am sort of umming and ahhing about calling this post meta. It’s not, quite, just some things that are swirling around in my head. Has been sitting in my WIPs for a while.

Spoilers abound for DAO, DAA, DA2 and DAI, so watch your step. Nothing outside the games though. 

So the situation is, we have a story that is tied heavily into elven history and mythology. Whether or not the Inquisitor is Dalish, it makes sense to have a character with experience/knowledge in this arena, who can accompany them, who can help steer events along, even going so far as to aid the Inquisitor whilst retaining a very personal agenda themselves.

I was reading about some posts about Cassandra and Ashley… and first reaction I had was.

YES. PERFECT. THEY ARE BOTH SO AMAZING. YES TO ALL OF THAT.

(don’t ever ask me to emphasize the love for both of them, I’ll drown you with all these fab female characters)

And well, breadedsinner brought up a very good point. Both Cassandra and Ashley share a lot of similarities… just where are the Ashley Williams fans then?

I saw that post and I just jokingly noted how it is because Cassandra never have a Horizon.

And in a closer inspection… you know what, I am sure some of it had to do with how Cassandra doesn’t question the Inquisitor at all once the ball is sent rolling…

But.

I suspect a lot more of it is because Cassandra never actually actively wrestles control from the player.

Going to put this behind a read more, because this is going to get long.

DISCLAIMER: I am not actively saying how one is better than an another. They are both amazing, amazing characters that shares similarities, yet are also very different. I am also not saying that either character is realistic or unrealistic… However. This is going to be a bit BioWare critical about Cassandra’s romance and character arc portrayal.

Do not read if you don’t want to hear about how BioWare made Cassandra more “appealing” in her romance route.
