tell me about the zukaang headcanon that makes you the happiest, like; you can't stop smiling into your pillow kinda happy :) only if you want to!

This is so difficult i dont even know where to begin with this. What i really love about zukaang and their friendship in general is how zuko has had to learn that aang isnt asking anything of him. Aang isnt expecting him to be anyone but himself and how much of a relief that has been to zuko. Really that works vice versa too. I also love how much they praise each other all the time. Theyre so healthy i cant take it honestly

I love the idea of them napping against appa together and being in each others laps and aang making little braids in zukos hair and how when they spoon their scars from azula align and i love how aang is one of the only people zuko doesnt seem to worry is making fun of him and i love that they literally built an entire world of peace together

Aang legit in the comic called Zuko “Your Fireiness” as a nickname. It’s not a stretch that one day the gaang all hang out and watch Aang and Zuko banter(flirt) and Aang calls Zuko “Your Hotness”. When Toph barks out a laugh all “Careful Twinkletoes, your wife can see you blushing.” And Katara goes “I like it when he’s blushing. Besides, who wouldn’t call Zuko Your Hotness?” To the left Sokka is dramatically gagging, but Aang and Katara laugh and take turns bowing and ushering Zuko across the courtyard “Your Hotness” “After you, Your Hotness” “Oh mighty and regal lord hotness of the firenation” “Hottest hotness of the firenation dynasty” “The hottiest” and Zuko gets all flustered and ends up laughing.

Assumptions we can make about Mako from TLOK:

He didn’t go to school, yet was expected to know how to find food/housing and know financing skills to care fo his brother and himself.

He was manipulated a lot when younger when involved with the Triads. He hurt innocent people without the knowledge of doing so.

Work with the triad and losing his family has led to major trust issues.

Mako was more so interested in stability, money, and Asami’s looks rather than her as a person (learned manipulation from Triads).

Mako has an extremely strong moral code and guilt related to his Triad days. He joined the United Republic Force to atone for his past. 

Korra was the first person to break through his shell, but both were not in the right place for a proper relationship. Mako chose stability over Korra during their days together.

Mako struggled with relationships due to still learning social cues. He’d spent the majority of his life interacting with his brother and people who just didn’t give a shit about him.

Mako shielded Bolin from the worst things related to the Triad. Bolin obviously worked for them, but probably did the ‘easier/safer’ things rather than the extreme things Mako may have done.

Mako grew up knowing what hunger and poverty was.

Mako is paranoid/anxious due to his past experiences.

He has done things he’s guilty for, but there was no other choice than survive and care for his brother.

Mako’s judgement in regards to Bolin changing jobs comes from wanting stability and safety. It’s not just to be an asshole.

Mako’s agitation towards Bolin as they grow older is valid. Bolin gets older, yet still looks and needs guidance from his brother. Mako is his sibling and not his parent though. Mako has no fixed obligation to always help and be there 24/7 for his brother once they’re older.

Mako sacrificed everything for stability.

Mako is a good person and character.

Mako is still trying to discover self-love, self-respect, and happiness. It’s a journey we all take, but sometimes it takes longer for others due to their past and experiences.

Mako was a neglected youth that people often times forget. Learned behaviors don’t just disappear. He may come off as a douchebag at times, but try to remember what he probably went through to get to where he is now. Mako has come a long way, even if he still has a long way to go. He’s a solid character that really cares for others and will sacrifice himself for the greater good (He was going to sacrifice himself for a whole city that hadn’t given a shit about him when he needed them, but he still did what he did).
