Back To School

So today was the day I went back to school. This morning started with getting up and going to church with my family. Afterwards we went to my grandma’s house to say bye to her. Then I went home and packed all my stuff up in the car which also included the record player that my dad had given me. The drive wasn’t bad at all; I didn’t get stuck behind too many slow people this time. Then once I got to school and got everything unpacked my friends and I decided to go out to buy some groceries. I also finally payed my friend back for the concert ticket to Lady Gaga that she had bought me and I bought a new french press coffee maker thing that I had broken before winter break. So now we are even. Then we got back and I ended up taking a nap and then I made some Sloppy Joe and a pizza for dinner. Then I played some Overwatch until it was close to being time to go to bed. I have to go to sleep a little earlier today because I have an 8am class tomorrow which I haven't had since freshman year so that should be fun. I’m also kinda stressed because I haven't bought any books for my classes yet and I feel like I’m already short on money. Oh well, here’s to a good start to my semester!

So this is going to cover yesterday and today.

Yesterday I luckily didn't have to work but I still had to go there to get my check. before that though my mom asked me if I wanted to Skyline with her while she was on her lunch break. I of course said yes because there are no Skylines in Bloomington so I wanted to have some before I went back to school. It was nice eating lunch with her because we actually got to sit down and talk. I don’t get to see her very much because of work so I’m glad she suggested it. Then I went to work and got my check and deposited it in the bank. I then went back home and got my packages that I was waiting for which included my Glass Animals vinyl. Then I went and picked up some friends from work so we could go shopping for the little party we were having that night. It was for one of my friend’s 21st and also for my leaving to go back to school. The party was a lot of fun and I’m starting to realize that I’m pretty good at pong lol. I unfortunately didn’t get much sleep though because the couch wasn’t that comfortable surprisingly.

Then this morning we all went to Cracker Barrel and had a great meal. We then went to a pet shop and a vape shop for my friend. Then I dropped them off at home and I went home. It was the last time I’ll see them in a while so it was really nice. Right when I got home my mom told me my dad ran out of gas and asked if I wanted to get gas for him with her. So we went and did that and then finally I was able to relax a bit at home finally. Dad then suggested that we get out the record player so that I could try out my new record. It took a while to warm up and it definitely sounds different than a digital copy but I like the sound it gives. Overall yesterday and today have been a lot of fun.

I didn’t write anything yesterday because I forgot and I was really tired from working the the third 10 hour shift in row. It was my last day before I go back to school for the spring semester. One of my coworkers brought in some carrot cake cupcakes and they were so good. I’m so happy that I’m done working for the winter though, I feel like I’m always there. 

I should be getting my Glass Animals vinyl today and I’m super excited. I’m not sure if we have anything that can play it but either way I’m excited to just own the vinyl. 

I’m going to a little going back to school party with some friends today which should be fun. They want to go ice fishing tomorrow but it’s going to be freezing so it will be an experience for sure.

Another New Year

I know that it has been almost an entire year since I have written anything here but I decided to write another post. 2017 has definitely been an eventful year, for better or worse. 

I went to my first ever concert, Glass Animals, this year and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. I ended up going to two more concerts later in the year: Jon Bellion and Lady Gaga. All three of them were an amazing experience, especially since I got to see them with my friends!

I also went to Michigan with a group of friends and that was an incredible journey. I loved the drive there and we didn’t get there until about 3 in the morning. The first thing we did when we got there was go out to the lake and stand on the little boardwalk. I remember how quiet and peaceful the lake was with there being no wind and the stars reflecting off of the water. We explored the dunes and just had fun in the lake, spending hours in the water. 

Other than a few trips I spent most of my time working. Then school started back up. I was really excited for this fall semester. My roommates and I got an apartment together, which has definitely been an experience to say the least. Some days they drive me crazy but at the end of it all they are still my friends. The semester itself was very stressful for me. I ended up dropping my Genetics class because I was just not getting it and studying enough. I also started feeling really down. I don’t know if I was depressed but it was definitely the lowest I think I’ve ever felt in my life. I still found joy in my family, friends, and my club, but everything else felt kind of grey to me. Like I was just going through the motions. I started falling behind in two of my fours classes that I still had. It felt like a hole that I just couldn’t escape.

Then one of the most mind boggling and shocking things happened on December 11th. I had been studying all night for my Organic Chem final exam. When I woke up the next morning, I checked my phone and I had a text from my dad that said to call him as soon as possible. So I went to the bathroom and called him. He said that my cousin died. He said that he had committed suicide. I was shocked and completely speechless. I remember finishing the call and just dropping my phone and sobbing. That whole day it was so hard to focus on anything let alone studying for Orgo. I had and still have such a hard time comprehending that he is actually gone. That Friday was his viewing and Saturday was his funeral. It was terribly difficult to see my aunt and all my cousins and my grandma there. One of the major things that I took away from it all was that the ones you loved should be hugged a little linger and a little tighter because you never know when it will be the last time that you get to hug them. 

Then I was back at home for the winter break. I’ve mostly just been working. i did go to a New Years Eve party at my neighbors house and it was definitely an interesting time. Tomorrow I am going to be working a third 10 hour shift in a row and I should probably go to bed so that I actually get some sleep. Oh also I am putting down the down payment for my piece of the cabin that a group of us are going to use in a trip to Gatlinburg next summer. I’m super excited about it and I can not wait. 

So yeah this was a very simple recall of the things that happened while I was not writing it down of last year and the first couple days of 2018. Hopefully this will be a better and I will try to work hard so that it will be. Here’s to a good year and a better me!

These are probably going to start to be even more intermittent from here on out. Somedays I totally forget to do this and some days I am too lazy.

Yesterday we had an exec meeting for HPS and it was a lot of fun. We did a lot of planning and it was just a lot of fun hanging out with them.

Today was fun. At breakfast we talked about starting a new religion called Infansolism- the worship of the sun baby from Teletubbies. Then we went to Goodwill and got some much needed clothes. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to buy a rocking chair. I really liked it though so hopefully the $15 is worth it. I played FFX for most of the night and I’m really enjoying it.We also didn't have classes today because of MLK day. Tomorrow will be really easy because I only have one class!

Ok so first off it’s been a couple of days since I've written something because for some reason whenever I tried to get onto Tumblr to write something it would never load. Like every other website worked except for Tumblr. Oh well. Since it’s been a few days I don’t really remember everything that has happened, but I’ll try my best.

So classes started this week and so far they have been pretty good. I really enjoy my Organic Chem class so far even though I know it is going to be a lot of work. For some reason the classes I am least excited about are my biology classes. I don’t know if I should be worried about that because it is my planned Major. I’m hoping it’s just because those specific classes are just boring. Other than my classes I haven’t been doing too much. I’ve already fell into the routine of taking my daily nap so that’s pretty exciting.

I have to go home this weekend because I have to get my check so i can actually buy the rest of my books for my classes. That will end up using most of my money so I really need to find a job. Like really soon. We’ll have to see.

Some other good news is that I get out of my classes pretty early on Thurs. and Fri, so I get the day to relax or, once I get a job, to work.

I already feel really behind and it hasn’t even been the first week of classes.

So today was a very busy day. It started off with me doing some very needed laundry. Then I went and got my haircut. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don’t. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Then I went to Harrison with Eric and I dropped off my car to get its oil changed. Then we went to Cracker Barrel and it was delicious as usual. We went back to check if my car was done because Eric needed to be back by 2 and it had been sitting there since 12. It wasn’t done so I had Eric drop me off by some stores. I walked around in a few stores for a while and then went to McDonalds and sat in there for 30-45 minutes. Finally at 3 I went over and it was done. I chilled at home for a bit and then I went out to eat with another friend at a place called Maverick’s. It tasted pretty good. Then we went to visit a friend who was already back at college and we hung out for a while. Then four of us went to a coffee shop at around midnight and stayed there until a little bit after one. It was a lot of fun and I would love to be able to spend a day to drive around the city and just explore. It was a very fun night!

I have to leave to go back to school tomorrow. I’m really excited to go back and I can’t wait for classes to start! Here’s to a good semester!

Whoops looks like I’ve already missed a day. My excuse will be that not a lot happens on the days I work. 

Yesterday was pretty fun. I set up my PS4 and started playing the Infinite Warfare game that came with. Not really the kind of game I’m really interested in but it was fun. Then I went out to lunch with mom at Skyline (I love Skyline so much, it makes me a little sad that there isn’t one where I go to school at). I’m really glad I ate with her because even though I’m home, with my work schedule I never get to even see her. I had work that night which was a total breeze because Amy came back! She had to leave for medical reasons but now she is back! It was really great to see her before I have to go back to school.

Now today was pretty boring all in all. I slept until almost 11 and then just chilled until it was time to work. Work wasn’t that busy but it still went by pretty fast. We had gotten some snow today and it was in the single digits with the wind chill so me and Eric sat in my car until both of our cars were warm enough for us to go home in. We talked for quite a while and then we went home. I got FFX in the mail today so when I got home I started playing it and got through a bit of the beginning which is the tutorial stuff. 

Tomorrow should be fun though. I am going to hang out with Eric, get a haircut, and hopefully get my oil changed. I also need to start getting ready to head back to school. Looks like I’ll be doing a good amount of laundry and cleaning of my room. Goodnight!

So today was pretty fun. I went to a car dealership with a couple friends and my brother. We mostly just looked around at the different types of cars. Afterwards we went to Steak and Shake and had some good food. Then went to War-Mart, got some stuff, and saw some old coworkers. Then we had to rush home because I had to go to work at 2. Work was kind of boring and it was pretty slow. The good news is that my PS4 came in the mail today so I will be able to play it tomorrow. Will it be worth me being broke until Friday? I shall find out tomorrow.

A Rough but Fun Start

So I decided that I wanted to start a personal blog that I could look back on. I think that 2017 will be an interesting year and I want to try my best to document some of it. So even though it has been a couple days since the New Year has begun I believe better late than never. 

So to start I will recap the past couple of days. On New Years Eve I was lucky enough to work until 10. Afterwards I rushed to go to my friends party which was almost a half hour drive away. The party was a lot of fun. I got to see some of my friends that I hadn’t seen in months. I am really happy that I got to bring in the new year with them. I’ll admit I had a little bit too much fun and unfortunately some of that fun was sprayed all over my friend’s hallway and in his bathroom. Literally one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever done but he was so cool about it. Definitely an awesome friend. 

On New Years Day I woke up with only getting about three hours of sleep. Also I woke up with my first ever hangover. I felt dizzy and my head was killing me. I had promised my friend I would go to the Bengals game with him so I had to wake up much earlier than what I would have liked. The drive home was absolutely hell and then I had to drive a small group to Cincinnati for the game. Let me tell you, I usually like going to the games because it is such a fun experience. This game was fun but it was definitely way too loud and they had the big floodlights, or whatever they are called, on that were way too bright. After the game we went out to eat at Cheddars, which I had never eaten at before, with our small group and a couple other people. Very good food but I was ready to go home. Once we got back and everyone went there separate ways I headed home. I was exhausted so I went straight to bed. I ended up sleeping for about 12 hours that night.I felt so great afterwards.

Finally, the day after that was not very eventful. Because I slept so much I didn't have much of my day left before I had to go to work. I worked from 2-10 which went by surprisingly fast. Came home and went to bed. 

So those are the past few days of my life that I am trying to chronicle. Who knows how often I shall update this blog with my stories. I want to do it as often as possible that’s for sure. Hopefully I won’t forget about it and here is to an eventful 2017!!!!
