i think a big part of the current wave of antifeminist rhetoric among women is that people just cannot accept the idea that liberating yourself is uncomfortable. like of course it feels Wrong to see something you've internalised as normal/necessary (like wearing makeup 24/7) be challenged, that's because you've internalised it. and it will feel ostracising to go against the status quo once you question the things you've internalised. but the discomfort is part of it. you have to move past the fear response and look at the bigger picture.

NAMI PHOTOCARD 🍊💰🐱
[ What's the next character that deserves a photocard in this style? I think I'll stick with casual clothes in this series (≧▽≦) ]
Shares are appreciated 💖

Because Catholicism and by extension Christianity are so big and normal I don't think a lot of people consider how strange the Vatican is just conceptually. Like yeah in the capital of a long-dead empire there's an opulent temple district that acts as it's own sovereign nation, still speaking the dead language of that empire for their rituals, ruled by a prophet-king chosen by a secret conclave of the high priesthood. Yeah his followers eat a lot of fish in the spring.

okay but there is something disquieting about this urge to cast fan writers as altruists. they give us all this for free!! well, no.
they’re sharing
it’s a key difference in perception. fic isn’t given. it’s shared. it’s part of a fandom community— in which readers are also an integral part.
it’s probably inevitable mission creep from the increasingly transactional nature of the internet and fandom-as-consumerism, which was always gonna happen after corps worked out how much bank there is to make from those weirdo fan people
but like. fandom is sharing. i think we’ve lost that somewhere.

hitting the point of adulthood where I’m really starting to settle into like. my own personal brand of being a bit of a weirdo. like the fact that I just go stand in the woods and stare at trees for 2 hours recreationally and can only try new foods once a week and eat absolutely stupid amounts of key lime pie bc I’m like, physically incapable of getting sick of it.
#it’s honestly barely even hiking. I do a hike to get there but I’m mostly there to like sit in the dirt and stare at trees.#just me and my music and the trees and the Ferris wheel of thoughts in my brain#but yeah every Friday: be weird in the woods. experiment w/a singular new salad. eat half of a key lime pie. it’s fucking awesome

told my parents robert de niro's daughter came out as trans and he's being cool and supportive and my dad, in a terrible robert de niro impression, says, "you talkin' to they/them?" which like. not entirely accurate but he got the spirit lol
