Whenever we talk about cyberbullying, we inevitably attract comments like ‘cyberbullying isn’t real’ and ‘just turn it off brah’. In fact, 46% of the people we surveyed said that 'real life’ refers exclusively to the stuff that happens offline.

Unfortunately cyberbullying is real and it isn’t possible to 'just turn off’ from the anxiety, depression, paranoia, low self-esteem and upset it causes. It’s time we started to recognize that #VirtualisReality. Just because something abusive is said online doesn’t make it less impactful. In fact, it can actually be more impactful - especially if a lot of people have seen it or if it’s posted anonymously.
