My latest pixel art here is a small Zorc! I wasn't sure how I'd portray Zorc's details well with a small canvas, but I'm really pleased with the result! A recent game I've been playing inspired this, a Lovecraftian deck builder called Fhtagn Simulator, as I played I quickly realised Zorc would fit in among the existing gods and monsters perfectly!

Here's what Zorc would look like in game! *Only the pixel art of Zorc is mine.

It was really fun balancing the details of Zorc alongside the game's style, I had a great time doing this~

me age 12: this pokemon is named Petri, named after petrichor, the name for the scent of rain. a close second was Nimbus, named after nimbostratus clouds in which rain forms. i was very tempted to go with Proteus, a greek shapeshifter who ruled the sea, but i realized that would be more fitting for a pokemon with a stronger attack stat. i researched these names endlessly and they took 2 hours to come up with.

I still think the most devastating enshittification I've ever seen has been picrew. One of the few dress-up game websites left that's not flash-based and it's become DRENCHED in ads. You can't open the home screen without being blasted by at least three or four ads. You can't open two picrews in a row without watching a video ad first. When you have a picrew open the ads cover up the different options and sometimes even stack on each other so you have to hit like 2 or 3 different x buttons to get it to go away, only for more to appear seconds later. Evil world

The way the Ring has to claw into Ryou's skin to keep him from discarding it.

The way Ryou carves vessels and builds pyramids for the Spirit to use.

The way the Spirit grants him the title of landlord.

The way the Spirit tries to reclaim him after everything.

The way his soul is meant to house an entity born of darkness and vengeance.

When I write Thief King I'm like "well obviously making a pact with the lord of darkness to kill everyone was bad and he is frankly wretched but c'mon he's a grieving deeply messed-up orphan being manipulated by forces beyond human understanding and struggling against a systematically unjust society that brutalized his people and I just think we should have a tiny bit of grace." But as soon as someone criticizes him for being mean to Atem or whatever or suggests his critique of the monarchy wasn't on point I'm knee-jerk like "well have you considered that Thief King was right and Thief King did nothing wrong ever in his life thus always to tyrants and may the last king be strangled by the entrails of the last priest"
