I dislike that type of advice that's like "you're actually being more of a burden on others by insisting on not being a burden" because it's still telling people who base their self-worth on their convenience that they're failing by being too inconvenient. I'm sure it's a helpful line of thought for some people but the obvious response to that kind of advice a lot of the time is going to be "I'm upsetting people by not letting them help me? shit. fuck. okay I can fix this by not even letting them know I need help in the first place, time to withdraw and avoid even more. they won't be upset when I reject them if they never have cause to offer."

Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

Most of you mutuals most definitely may already know about Ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim, a Gazauī Palestinian man we Tumblr bloggers have befriended (him and many other Gazauīs as well) in order to help him and his relatives procure the help they so pressingly have needed and continue needing because of the zionist genocidal campaign underway.

Well, I'm appealing to your means and solidarity once more in order to get more donations for them. His body is now covered in a painful rash from contaminated water and malnutrition, and his family hasn’t received all needed aid due to the dangerous "red zone" airdrops; so it's become more difficult for him to actually pick up helping supplies for his relatives by himself.

They’re out of time. Every contribution buys flour, bread, water, lentils, bandages, antibiotics, or a moment of safety. If you’ve ever shared a post about Gaza all along, I'm sure you know fully well this is how you turn solidarity into survival.

as the palestinians in the safe zones are marked as targets the resistance continues against them, in gaza the families are still forced to gather for protection in places where they cannot heal nor live because everything has been reduced to survival. abdul and his family @abdulrahman-family know this too well, they know they're at the whims of hope.

My son Amir is one year and three months old.

He was born during the war.

Since his first day, all he has known is bombing, hunger, and fear.

He has never tasted fruit.

He has never had candy.

We could not even provide him with baby formula.

Clothes are scarce.

I dress him in his older brother Adam’s shirt, which hangs like a long dress.

Diapers are missing.

Sometimes he goes to sleep hungry.

Yet Amir smiles.

But the truth is that his childhood is being stolen, day by day.

From an outstanding student in all subjects, winner of many awards in competitions at the state level, and a vice president in the school parliament, aspiring to raise the status of his country and looking forward to studying in the most prestigious and best European universities, I saw the future prosperous with success and achievements, until the war came.

Now I go out in the morning to search for clean drinking water, charge phones, find food and search for humanitarian aid

How much I miss my quiet life, how much I miss my home that was blown up by the *I$raeli army, I had a big and beautiful house equipped with the latest technological techniques, but after the war all of this became a thing of the past

Displacement is not just a decision, it comes with a very high cost that I cannot afford.

A tent alone costs around $1,000, transportation about $800, even a small bathroom is around $400, not to mention the monthly rent for the land. This means that for a small family to be able to move and find shelter, we need at least $2,500 – $3,000!

My family and I cannot afford this amount. We are living between fear, hunger, and under constant bombing, with no place to go. Displacement has become a distant dream, even though it’s the very least right we have – to live in safety.
