i’ve been kind of avoiding it here but i came back and it made me mad again so here
are you on this app often? how often? do you default to clicking on that stupid little “t” on your homescreen when you’re bored? when you look something up, are you looking it up here first, not on the internet broadly, from different sources and places and voices? are you on here for more than 1-3 hours a day?
i advise you: just take a week off. just uninstall the app for a week, make that “t” on your homescreen go away for a little while. just see how it feels. you may find yourself still trying to default to clicking it. that is a pretty good indicator of a reliance on the app. that’s no good. listen, it doesn’t have to be forever, but hey, you may find you like it better without it. you may find yourself more engaged with the world, more connected with the present, more available to others in person that need you or want to be around you.
this is not to guilt trip. you don’t have to feel guilty for being addicted to social media, or even just relying on it for escapism. that’s what they design it for. but you should be aware of it, and you should recognize that you are escaping reality here. you have to be aware that in many cases, especially here, you’re consigning yourself to an echochamber. sometimes, you need to hear from a better sample of the average real life person. yes, this place can be comfortable if you’ve been here for as long as i have (since i was probably 11-12), and that’s fine.
just give it a week.
no tumblr for a week.
just seven days.
maybe you find you like it and go for two weeks. sure! but just try it for a week. best fucking advice i could possibly give you. the people around you will thank you. and i will be proud of you.

No more waiting, no more debating, go get your hrt. "I don't know if I'm really trans." You are. Now go. "I'm scared." We all were. Now go. "There's a long wait to be seen." Go get your name on that list then. Self medicate if you need. "What if my friends don't accept me?" They weren't your friends then, go. "What if my spouse doesn't accept me?" Get divorced. Now go. You do not need to continue to live in agony and depression to pretend to be someone else. Go get your hrt.

Tumblr is unique bc like. It's collaborative shitposting and you can't opt in or out. You can just say something about your day then an evil wizard shows up to turn your post into something humorous
Every other site is just one and done, but here a post is a welcome mat to be funnier than you

reading progressive sex ed caricatures with accurate and detailed and realistic diagrams of sexual organs + shows their variation, but all i can think about is how there is no discussion of what srs is besides the fact that it exists
