Seng is such a great, dynamic actor! pan couldn't be any farther from Toh, but he is already hitting it out the park! Pan is a really deep complicated character and we can already see he has been through A LOT. who knows what shit he has seen and experienced in this industry. we allll know that people are taken advantage of all the time in the acting and music industries everywhere. It's important to highlight how small, yet powerful and scary these moments can be!

Seng's acting range is absolutely insane. I'm in the middle of a Why R U? rewatch and was just reintroduced to his character, Tanthai. I legit only recognized him because of his smile and the moment I did, your girl was like —

An actor, to certain extent, has to become their assigned character in order to be effective. Some actors struggle with moving from one character to another — especially if there are drastic differences, but my boy Seng is a freaking chameleon. The difference between Tanthai and Toh (Secret Crush on You) is whiplash-inducing but he played both characters so flawlessly. With that said, I'm really looking forward to seeing him in War of Y.

I like the fact that nuea always bends down to toh's height and looks him in the eyes . And it's just so symbolic for me i don't know it's like him saying "I love you and you are my equal, you don't have to put me on a pedestal" like that's love , it's in small gestures like these .

One of the most amazing things about Secret Crush on You is that they understand why their characters are insecure and how to reassure them. The show understands why Jao is so reluctant to believe Sky and so desperate to push him away. The show understands why Toh doesn't trust his relationship with Nuea and clings to every object like a lifeline. The show understands why Daisy is so willing to change for Touch. SCOY understands and says we see you and we see your fears and you can still be loved and you are still loved and you still matter exactly as you are. This is a show about love, friendship, queerness, identity, growth, comfort and the power of acceptance all wrapped up in cringe humor with a bow of pure joy on top.

The thing about Nuea is that he is jealous and possessive, but there’s a part of that behavior that’s performative. It’s part of the role play that he and Toh so enjoy. But Nuea also is very in-tuned to when an insecurity is coming into play with Toh and he always softens immediately at its presence.

The moment he saw that Toh believed that Nuea thought it was ridiculous for Toh to try and be “more attractive” Nuea showers Toh’s new look with praise while being sure to also emphasize that Nuea is always attracted to Toh. There’s no change necessary.

When Nuea pulls out that outfit he picked for Toh, knowing that Toh would be anxious about the impression Toh wants to make on Nuea’s family…reason number 1,357 why Nuea is simply an excellent boyfriend and partner for Toh.

One thing I really just need to say about Scoy is that unlike a lot of BL out there, this narrative and character development is so tight. No plot holes, no suddenly out of character/irrational reactions for the sake of drama, but instead an actual circular narrative that really tied back to the beginning to show the growth and change from that starting point with no loose ends or wasted chances.

Toh's collection is now not just pictures of Nuea taken from afar, it's pictures of them together, pictures they've taken of each other, their memories they both share, all put together in their shared space, their home.

Jao who always felt awkward and uncomfortable with himself and around others isn't afraid to go anywhere now because he found his home and his confidence with Sky.

Daisy really deserved so much more than a 5 second conversation, but the point still stands that she found so many people who love her as she is and just want to see her happy including someone who can love her as a romantic partner with no demands or disgust or uncertainty- only love, patience, and acceptance.

Nuea who had been treated like some untouchable, perfect idol, finally broke through the lens and was able to get Toh to see him as he is- an ordinary person full of love and devotion that just wants to have that love and devotion returned.

Sky who even at the beginning was compared negatively with Nuea, who never felt as cool or smart, found someone who sees him for all the good that he is, and loves him unconditionally.

I wish we could have had more episodes to fully delve into the stories of all the characters. I could watch so many seasons of these characters. Admittedly, some parts of the finale were a little rushed, but I really loved this series and I know I'm going to be re-watching it so many times.

The message is so beautiful and so well crafted.

Everyone, no matter how much they do or do not align with what people think is "normal" or "good" deserves friendship, love, family, and acceptance, and deep down that support is what we all want. The "cool kids" like Nuea and Sky, the "weird kids" like Toh, everyone just wants to feel seen for who they are and loved genuinely.

All those people out there that stopped watching because of "cringe" are the people that need this lesson the most, and I hope they give it another chance because that's really the point. Learning to accept other people even for the eccentricities and differences is so important. It's when we can look beyond those differences and see each other as real people, that everyone can feel safer being themselves and know that they are worthy.
