i’d totally ship you with Klaus but i could also see you having an on/off again situationship with Elijah. you’re just as intelligent as Eli is so that’s not hard to believe or see but in the long run, you both would want more but for right now, you’ll enjoy each other’s company. now Klaus is your endgame babe, he’s everything you need yet would refuse at first glance. once you’re over the ‘i’m a bad guy’ persona, you two will get on so well, he’s very compassionate, kind, attentive, intelligent, and of course easy on the eyes. he’s not patient at all but that’s okay bc you bring that out in him and in reverse, he makes you spontaneous and daring. you perfectly balance each other. you’re not put off by him murdering others just so long as they deserved it which is a breath of fresh air for him since he’s surrounded by judgy people. you’re able to hold your own but it does help when you name drop him because the look on anyone’s face makes you smirk knowing Klaus will save you and destroy them all with ease. Eli will help too ofc otherwise who else is he gonna have a situationship with?? ahem me.

I just started Mystery Incorporated and I have a headcanon that at some point Fred is diagnosed with autism and he does some research into it. Having realized that Daphne doesn't feel like her affection is reciprocated and having done some soul searching with his therapist he prepares a little speech in his head and then sits her down and explains that his way of affection is just different.

While at first she's unsure of Fred being autistic because she has some misconceptions (not her fault, they're abundant), he explains that it looks different for everyone and shows her some websites he found and by the end they're laughing about how many of the traits he has and she accepts it. And then he explains that when he talks to her about traps that's his way of showing affection because he loves traps and wants to share the things he loves with the people he cares about. And sure, that's Velma and Shaggy and Scooby too, but it's especially Daphne because he cares about her romantically. And when he apologizes in case he ever made her feel like he didn't care she just hugs him and says that he's very sweet and she'll never look at nets the same way.

After that Daphne does a ton of research and ends up noticing little ways to support Fred — which she does. If someone's taking advantage of his being good-natured and having difficulty with social cues, she stands up for him and makes sure he's being treated fairly. And when Fred ends up going on a tangent about traps she listens more carefully because she realizes it's his way of showing his affection. On the weekends they cuddle and watch TV together and Fred gets very hyperfixated on Daphne's favorite shows, which she finds very sweet because she knows he's investing himself in her passions because he's invested in her.

I've shipped this pair for so long (since childhood tbh) and now knowing that Fred has been written as autistic makes me so happy. Autistic Fred Jones owns my heart honestly and while in many episodes Daphne doesn't seem to understand his special interests, I love the idea of them having a chance to sit down and discuss it and just becoming even closer because they're able to appreciate each other's way of showing love. I think it'd be really cute. Maybe once I have some time I'll write some fanfics about it. :)

It annoys me how so much of modern discourse around female characters is, to be frank, misogyny repackaged as being progressive.

If a woman's strengths and interests are associated with being feminine, such as cooking or enjoying nice clothes or being kind and compassionate, the entire fandom jumps on her as stereotypical or weak. It's seen as cool to bash on "women's work", never mind that your average misogynist has been doing it for decades, hell, centuries, and the jobs that are mocked as women's work are actually pretty essential to humans surviving and thriving.

And then, of course, if a woman shows the slightest hint of nonconformity, the entire fandom jumps on her because "oh!! she's trying to be not like other girls!! she wants male attention so bad!!" It doesn't matter how she is to the other girls in her life, if she wears combat boots and listens to punk instead of Taylor Swift, she clearly hates every other woman ever according to certain parts of fandom. It couldn't be that she's neurodivergent or LGBT or hell, even just a tomboy, she has to hate every other girl on the planet. /sarcasm

AND JUST TO CLARIFY. These tropes can genuinely be negatively done. The traditionally feminine girl can be a weak character and the tomboy girl can be an ass. But when you're calling a girl a "pick me" just because she doesn't live up to your idea of what a woman should look like or what you think feminism is... congratulations. You've simply repackaged sexism and called it woke. And lots of girls who see this crap online are going to suffer for it but hey, it was never actually about them, so who cares, right? /sarcasm

Anyway, to all the girls reading this post, you go ahead and be who you want. Be a princess or a president or a pop singer or a punk rocker or hell, all of the above. You're not a "pick me" you're not a "handmaiden" you're not trying too hard to be "not like other girls". You are fine. Don't let pseudo-woke nonsense get to you. It's just white noise.
