Hello to all my wonderful followers! I hit 1K followers a while back but never got around to doing anything for it and now that I’m at my next hundred, in addition to the holidays I knew I had to get my ass in gear to thank all of you! I’m awful at follow forever’s, but know that I think you’re all great and I wish we could all get to know each other better, so please never hold back from starting a conversation, if you want to get to know each other better. i kinda wanna do a classic soulmates plot where like when you turn 21 your soulmates name is tattooed on your chest etc. (you know the deal) but like i don’t wanna know your character’s fc, gender, personality until we exchange accounts, i don’t wanna know if our muses would get along, i just want them to meet one day knowing only that they have each other’s names tattooed on their chests and that’s it. who knows if they’ll fall in love or end up hating each other? Cuz I’m fine with both outcomes tbh.

It was honestly pure chance that I logged on to my old Eli account and found myself tagged in this confession, but I’m really glad I did. Allie was my first partner as well and she meant the world to me. I’m really glad she sent this post and even more glad that she’s doing well! <3

I just wanted to say thank you so much to JJ (@tri-eli-anderson), I don’t know where she is now or who she’s playing but i’m so thankful for all the time we rped together. I feel really bad that I just abandoned her when life got too hard to keep up rping. She was my first partner and the best partner i’ve ever had. She taught me a lot about writing and helped developed my passion for characters. I’m applying to creative writing uni courses this year and I know at least part of me getting to where I am is due to her patience and kindness with me when I was just starting out. I know wherever she is she’s being amazing and is probably underappreciated. Our Eli and Ash will always be my otp and I hope she knows how much she means to me, so much love.

Sometimes the bullies win. 

Sometimes you’ve been in a group for nearly two years and then you start getting anon hate for no real reason. 

And then those messages start getting sent to the main. 

And then you leave because you just can’t deal with it anymore and you still get anon hate sent to you.

And you sit crying because it has been almost two years in the group. And you’ve made some awesome development with your character and met some great people.

But it doesn’t matter because now that group has sullied all groups for you.

It’s really hard to leave a roleplay that you’ve finally after months and months admitted to yourself is toxic and really really bad for you when you’re attached to your character and you’re attached to a ship that you and another player have planned. 

It’s hard when another player, an admin, tells you that they don’t want you to leave because they love your character and their not wanting you to leave the group has nothing to do with the HUGE plot you having going with their character, but you know that’s exactly what it is. Because if it’s not related to that plot, their character pretends yours doesn’t exist, does things to push your character out of the future plot of their character.

It’s hard. But I’ve only been gone from the group, hiatus for now, for a day and I already feel better. I haven’t had a low thrum of panic running through me and I didn’t realize until I didn’t have it that it was caused by the group. 

It’s hard because this group has been my home for almost two years - it’s longer than I’ve ever been in a single group. It’s one of the longest running roleplays that I’m involved in both 1x1 and group. 

But I know I need to. I know leaving would be the right thing to do. The best choice for my mental health. And I know no one would actually care. I’ve unintentionally made the wrong person upset so it’s not like 1/2 the players will even allow their characters to plot with mine or roleplay with mine when I come back.

can i share something that’s probably gonna offend some people lol: it isn’t practical for resource blogs to have these minimalistic, contained themes. for indies, it’s become the norm so it’s ““okay”” but for blogs where tens or even hundreds of people are viewing your content a day, you need something that’s accessible to everyone. you need visible links that are more than icons, symbols or numerals. you need 500px wide posts. no one should have to zoom in to read your text or view your content through a 300px tall container. when people depend on your blog for resources you have to sacrifice the aesthetic for the sake of accessibility.
