I recently went to the salon tried a hair treatment. While the attendant washed my hair, he said that he was amazed that I hardly had any hair fall. So I told him I used Gugo and he just chuckled.
But it’s true! I have strong hair because of Gugo. And I use the actual bark! Not the traditional way, of course. It’s nestled inside every bottle of Zenutrients Gugo shampoo. I’ve been using it ever since I had hair fall from pregnancy and breastfeeding (with no fear of harmful chemicals because it’s organic!). I swear by it. So I was super ecstatic to find out that they came up with a gugo serum!
Now, both products (and a lot more other Zenutrients bottles of goodies) reside in my ever so crowded toiletry collection.
Here’s more about their Gugo Serum from Zenutrients:
“There are several causes behind hair fall for women. Physical and emotional stress, pregnancy, unhealthy scalp, hairstyling fatigue and nutritional imbalance are among the top 5 reasons behind thinning, brittle hair. We understand that women are concerned about this; after all, every woman wants their hair to look and feel strong and beautiful.
At Zenutrients, we believe that our role is to harness the wonders of nature and put it to work for all of us. That’s why we always say – Don’t panic, use organic!
We’re concerned about hair fall too. That’s why we are so excited to share with you our newest organic wonder — The Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum. We’ve combined five of nature’s most well-known ingredients that fight hair thinning and hair fall – Gugo, Jeju Aloe Vera, Green Tea extract, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus essential oils.
Gugo has always been popular in the Philippines as a proven organic remedy for stubborn dandruff, hair thinning, and even eczema. Before regular shampoos came along, this saponin-rich tree bark was often used to wash hair. People would wet the bark with warm water and rub it directly onto hair and scalp.
Jeju Aloe Vera is one of the best multi-vitamins for your hair and scalp. What with as much as 75 nutrients, 20 minerals, 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids and 200 active enzymes it’s the natural cure for many skin and health problems. With healthy hair follicles, it is easier for nutrients and minerals to reach the roots to make hair long, thick and strong.
Green Tea extract has catechins and polyphenol that help strengthen roots and activate hair follicles that promote hair growth and re-growth.
Tea Tree oil can help get rid of bacteria and fungi. It also helps wash away dead skin cells that help unclog pores for a healthy scalp.
Eucalyptus oil is nature’s cleanser. With its antifungal properties, it helps ward off infection, restrain residue build up and unclog the pores on the scalp.
This power combination is made into a super serum that helps you fight hair fall and hair thinning by restoring scalp and hair strength.
Zenutrients Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum can be used in two ways. First, massage into the scalp and affected areas in the evening, wash off in the morning. Second, apply to the ends after washing when hair is damp, to prevent split ends and breakage.
Experience organic magic with this perfect blend of nature that can do wonders for your hair. The Gugo Strengthening Hair Serum is best used as a system with Gugo Shampoo and Gugo Conditioner. For sure, you’ll swear by your #GugoStrong hair!”

So…freedom. Let me start this blog by being free from any biases. I am blogging about this product because they love the color purple. There. I said it. Now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you about its merits. It is a great brand after all, specially for people with sensitive skin like me. Because apparently, reader, there’s 60-70% of us in this country with skin that gets red, dry and…
