hey guys welcome back to my ramblings about the new episode! dunno when this turned into a tlou blog but im not conplaining

as always, SPOILERS for the last of us s2 ep 5

brief over view:

-so it (the show but specifically happy dellie scenes) have been getting a lot of hate lately, but i honestly 1) think changes to the show are okay if neil (the guy who wrote the games!) passes it and we already know he has a HUGE role in it! 2) think that all of the happy dellie scenes are a great way to make it hurt more when she ultimately (game spoilers) doesnt pick dina. Showing how happy they are and how much they love each other will only make it hurt more. And also im happy it wasnt in the first few episodes! it gave us more time to what those episodes were trying to be about, joel and ellie! its one thing when its a side plot in the games snd its another when its a tv show and youre forced to watch it on your screen.

-as i was talking about before, watching Ellie make the choice between going to dina (injured) or going after nora to find where abby is, is awesome foreshadowinggggggg im obsessed and it literally just gives more to be painful about the ending (s3? 👀)

-im going to make a bigger post about dellie but theres so much here

-jesse!! hes back and hes fighting with ellie! its so entertaining actually to see how much they both care about dina but how jesse thinks hes morally correct and Ellie, while i dont nessecarily think that she views herself as right, is actively putting Dina in danger with her revenge mission.

-we're also seeing so much more about Dina's past, and WHY she is still with Ellie. Why she's okay with what ellie is trying to do. hearing her talk about her mom and sister gives us a lot of background into what Dina is thinking. I love seeing more into her mind and what shes thinking, especially when ellie starts talking about how shes stupid for bringing Dina along. She WANTS to get mad at ellie but she knows that in a sense Ellie is right and gives ellie the choice. "do you want me to stay or do you want me to go?" "do i stay safe or will you let me put myself in danger for you?"

ok so im watching yellow jackets and I'm kind of obsessed with ALL of them but especially van and tai. the pairings in this show are just phenomenal and also the casting is SO good with the adult timeline and the teen timeline im obsessed officially

Do you think Ellie says she’s going to be a dad not only for the humor of it but also because that’s the only parental figure she’s ever had and would know how to emulate for her own adopted child?

I hope all the people who were dogging on Dina in episode three feel silly. That girl was imagining being with Ellie and raising a kid together and people were out here claiming she was bi-curious and using Ellie…

the tragedy of joel’s kindness being his inevitable downfall and how his moment of kindness was overshadowed by his past cruelty oh man…

okay, I think I genuinely love Episode 04 (first watch rn, will rewatch it later), the Take On Me scene...Ellie getting bitten to save Dina...the secrets reveal from both sides...the ending...

and!! I genuinely loved Isaac's introduction??? and that scene with him was done good?? honestly I'd love more WLF content, so I kinda hope the next episode will be more Seattle Crew-centric (Abby, Owen, idc rlly - preferably Abby obv), but with only eight episodes idk how well you can pull off both sides (unless they split TLOU2's ending into a s3?) so yeah

but this week's episode was genuinely great to me
