As I get ready to return to Park City for the first in-person Slamdance in years, I’m so incredibly excited and proud to produce the first ever in-person presentation of our Unstoppable program that showcases work by filmmakers with visible and non-visible disabilities. For those of you who don’t know I was born with clubbed feet and hip dysplasia which caused me to be in and out of a wheelchair until the age of 6. As someone born with a disability I’m so grateful to have a role in creating a space that recognizes disabled artists. It’s my wife, best friend and overall compass’s birthday today. Which means we’re extremely close to reaching the 7 year mark together. If you had told me 7 years ago the journey we were going to have together I wouldn’t have believed you. You support my dreams, nurture my feelings and make me feel seen when I feel like hiding.
