Katherine stopped by for a recent Studio Friday session. While she was posing, she repositioned herself quickly and I saw this candid shot for just a split second. It fell together so nicely but it was fast. I was glad I captured it. Almost a happy accident, almost an outtake. (at Hoboken, New Jersey)

Danielle stopped by for another Studio Friday session last week. Our time together was short but I learned she is a *literal* rocket scientist and also dabbles in Krav Maga. Amazing! People like her make me so happy to have the opportunity to meet new people each day. (at Hoboken, New Jersey)

I had taken a few weeks off (maybe more?) from social media but I recently got back into the swing of things with the return of my Studio Friday sessions. I had some great subjects this past Friday, including Jesse - pictured here. (at Hoboken, New Jersey)

Monica came by for a Studio Friday session last week. When I'm not on assignment, my gear sometimes gets ignored. Often I'll be out shooting travel work, other personal projects, or editing... but it's nice to keep the lights humming. (at Hoboken, New Jersey)

10 years ago today I left my apartment in Brooklyn to meet up with an old family friend. Liz and I had both been out of college for a while and reconnected after years of having lost touch. She was living in Hoboken and asked me to join her to check out the Fall 2007 Hoboken Arts and Music Festival. We spent the day walking around and eating carnival food (most memorably: a rice ball the size of a small child). Since then we got an apartment together, traveled the world together, made friends, lost friends, laughed, cried, got married, and are now in the process of buying a house. As we close this chapter in our lives I cannot wait to see what the next decade has in store for us. To my best friend and partner in crime: I thank you for each and every day together... and for putting up with me taking your picture every chance I get. Polaroid: Pier A Park, Hoboken. Sept 2007. Editing a travelogue today and revisiting my trip to Japan last year. I read a book in this quiet corner to recharge my brain at Kate Coffee in the Shimokitazawa section of Tokyo. December 2016. (at Kate Coffee)

Meet Ryan, my intern for the next few months during his Fall semester of college. He's already pretty handy with a camera but is eager to learn more. Today was his first day, so I wanted to get him to up to speed with my studio and equipment. Instead of going through my gear case by case, I decided to set up an impromptu portrait session, explaining what each component did as it was used. A productive day! Thank you to @robin_schwartz for the connection! (at Hoboken, New Jersey)

Today I was able to see my tiny contribution to Photoville in the Print Swap gallery (Container 50). It might be small but it made me so happy to be part of such a great initiative that connects photographers around the world through shared prints. Thank you to @featureshoot and @theprintswap for selecting my work to be part of this collection! (at Photoville)

Another image from a recent shoot with my client and friend Lynda Layng: vegan chef and healthy living expert. After our shoot, Lynda was gracious enough to give me a few more minutes of her time to photograph her in her garden with my 4x5. I loved the quality of light during that time of day and how the fencing of her garden felt like we were on a soundstage. (at Cranford, New Jersey)
