Opinion; I'm not getting over this fanfic like; NEVER. God, I really CRIED, I SCREAMED, I GOT TOO EMOTIONAL IN EVERY CHAPTER, I JUST COULD NOT STOP.

I had a strong need to read non-stop until I finished it, but I finally finished it and it hurt, because now I need a continuation. It has the perfect ending but I just don't want to let this universe go, it's just wonderful and perfectly well constructed. Damn, I want to kiss the author's hands and brain, she/He/Them truly has just created one of the best fics in the fandom. This fic DESTROYS YOU but RECONSTRUCTS YOU at the same time. (Note: Scott is shit here)

Summary;

When Stiles's best friend Scott presented as a werewolf, it was just the worst. It was front-page news, there were reporters outside his house asking him questions, and people at school stared and kept their distance or interrogated him mercilessly. Worst by far was that it meant Scott had to leave immediately to live with the werewolf pack in the mountains -- which no one knew anything about. Stiles couldn't even visit, so he only got to see Scott once a month when he came back to visit his mom. It sucked.

A year later, he presents too.

Opinion; This is probably one of those fics that you will never forget and want to read again and when you remember this fic it will bring back happy memories.

“Well, he probably hates me, now!” Stiles insisted, turning back to Derek.

He looked extremely displeased.

Opinion: I had been looking for something to read and came across this gem, it is an entertaining read and once you start it is impossible to stop.

It keeps us trapped all the time in this world that the author built.

Derek finds himself stuck in his semi-transformed form, with his human mind missing, and he is considered; the beast

But no one can harm him or do anything to him because apparently he is connected to the nemeton and the city.

Then Stiles is selected in the blooding to be the new human to care for and feed the beast, but Stiles being Stiles can't keep things normal, and he changes everything.

Opinion:Scott is shit here, so u better not read this if that bothers u.

The friendship between Lydia and Stiles is probably one of my favorite things in this fic, and I really love the Hale pack, Derek never had to stop being alpha, he really would have done an incredible job as you will see in this fanfic.

(The fics where Derek is the alpha get all my love, so this fic gets my love.) Stiles and Derek have a slow burn romantic development so be patient, but it's worth it.

Once you start reading you won't be able to stop.

Opinion:There is a warning in the Fic about Stiles being kidnapped but not really kidnapped, but moderately kidnapped, and that if that is any trigger for you please don't read it.

I personally recommend this fic, Stiles was kidnapped by fools and that's too funny because they should know that Stiles is too smart for that.

Bright-eyed, sharp-tongued, determined to throw Derek’s carefully cultivated world into disarray…and absolutely the last person Derek should be falling in love with.

Opinion: (If you think that I put all the good fics at the beginning you are wrong haha). This fic is really soft and comforting in a way I can't explain. I had actually forgotten about this fic, but checking my bookmarks, I found it.

AND THANK GOD BECAUSE I FOUND IT. It's a really sweet but tense fic, and shit I really have to read it again.

Highly recommended.

Opinion:I love bakery so combining sterek + bakery is beautiful (for me) with a little angst and memory loss and you will have a delicious fanfic that you won't be able to stop reading until you finish the last chapter.

Tell me I'm Alive by tatsukitty

Summary;

“You would have stayed for me.” Derek replied seriously, as if it were solid fact. As if Stiles was a constant he didn’t have to question, a law of nature.

(Or: Post 5A, Stiles and Derek captured by the Dread Doctors and experimented on.)

Opinion; I have a thing for those fics where Derek and Stiles are each other's source of comfort and warmth, basically where they need each other. And add to that kidnapping, torture, and Derek being overpowered by his primal protective instincts towards Stiles, I really love those kinds of fics. (I know, I have a problem hahaha)

The Spaz and the Sourwolf by: TheRealDanniX

Sumamry: When Stiles comes across something he shouldn't in the Preserve he ends up on four legs. Not that anyone in the Pack knows it's him. He's just hoping they can figure it out before anything else bad happens.

Opinion: easy to read and entertaining, it's a light read with a captivating plot. I really like "mate" stories, so Stiles and Derek being mates is definitely one of my favorite things, adding to that a bit of a plot of Stiles being cursed and turning into different animals is really cool.

Seven years later the Sheriff responds to a shooting in progress, what he finds is an unconscious alpha on the floor, a bleeding passenger and a screaming baby in the back. The past has finally caught up to them.

Opinion; Very entertaining and truly satisfying read. I fucking loved everyone's initial shock so much, it was art.

I always love the fics where Stiles puts himself first and tells everyone to fuck off and finds love, security and family in Derek.

Stiles reunites with Scott and his pack after 7 years.

The Werewolf Companion by: MargaretKire

Derek didn't technically ask the Werewolf Conservation Committee for a companion human, but they insisted he have one for his mental and physical health.

Or: Derek has only had Stiles for a day, but if anything were to happen to him, he'd kill everyone in Beacon Hills and then himself.

Opinion: Derek pining for Stiles and being his number 1 protector.

Definitely seeing Derek falling in love with Stiles is my favorite thing in the world and seeing Stiles being a nervous wreck for Derek is cute.

Fly a Little Faster by mirrorkill

Summary:

Everyone knows when you go back in time, you shouldn't step on an ant, just in case you accidentally kill your own grandparent or something. But what happens when you go back in time and, uh, accidentally interrupt the one event that apparently made the Grumpiest Alpha in Town into a ball of mindless manpain?

Well, if Marty McFly can do it, so can Stiles Stilinski. All he has to do is get Derek and Paige to fall in love before he gets pulled back to his own time. And before he makes anything worse. That's easy as pie, right? Right?

Opinion:You have to see Stiles trying not to ruin anything in the timeline but in the end he just makes what had to happen happen.

But We're Still Sleeping Like We're Lovers by: CharWright5

Doesn't stop Stiles from asking the Alpha to help him during his heat. Or from developing some serious feelings that go beyond the bedroom. Basically, he's totally screwed, in more ways than one.

opinion: One thing I recognize about this fic is that the author put Stiles and Malia as siblings, and I think that tag goes well with them.

I like those fics where Derek and Scott are brothers, and I love when all that awkwardness happens between Scott and Stiles due to the fact that his brother is fucking his best friend. If you share that taste with me, this is your fic.

Don't Kiss and Tell by: Hedwig221b

Opinion: This is a pretty shitty fic and you end up saying "oh shit, poor Paige" because she didn't deserve that manipulation.

although here I discovered that I could read a story where Derek and Stiles are villains but as long as they love each other I read it happily.

He just need to convince his best friend to leave these lunatics behind. That's all.

He needs a plan.

Opinion:

Okay, warning again: kidnapping and a little (a lot) of possessive behavior. (Stiles tries to escape a few times.)

Here you feel a little more of real kidnapping and Stiles' fear.

But for some reason I like these fics, I have shit to fix in my head probably. Well you've been warned, there's a bit of Stockholm here…I guess.

Summary:

Stiles was used to his life going to hell. He'd just never expected it to be quite so literal.

When Rafael McCall returns to Beacon Hills after a five year absence it brings back lots of unhappy memories for Stiles, he'll do whatever he can to keep his secrets buried in order to protect those closest to him.

With Rafael's return Stiles discovers that secrets are always revealed, even if this particular time it's because of supernatural interference.

Opinion: But really this fic is beautiful at the end, well, mainly at ¾ of the end you can start to breathe in peace.

The love, patience, and support that the entire pack gives Stiles is something really nice, I'm really getting addicted to these kinds of stories where everyone is Stiles' protector. Because YES, Stiles definitely deserves all the love in the world.

And all the slow burn between Stiles and Derek is really slow... But it's worth it in the end. While you will really enjoy reading Derek totally and hopelessly in love with Stiles and vice versa.

I really don't want to give spoilers, but I advise you to have the clinex ready and something to hit, because believe me, you are going to need it.

Good luck with this fic, it's beautiful but it's a long and painful journey to the happy ending.

“Maybe,” Derek nodded anyway, eyes cast down. Their hands were intertwined on the bed where they sat, and Stiles traced Derek’s knuckles with his fingers.

“How would we know?”

Derek sighed and leaned over to rest his head against Stiles’ shoulder. “There’s always a sign."

Opinion: The author of this fic made a small universe where she/he shows us the dynamics in the Hale-Stilinski family, shows us Eli's growth, the typical problems of a family, and all the domesticity you can imagine.

I will never thank fic authors enough, because they put a band-aid on our hearts.

Eternally grateful to them for allowing us to read a little of their/her/his talent and for fixing the shitty movie that was THAT movie.

A terrifying chance that requires Stiles not look at Derek once, but it's a chance nevertheless.

Opinion:What can I say? READ THAT FIC NOW, because it's really beautiful and totally worth it.

The Hale Family

Since I have been using my Hale OCs more frequently lately and since I am planning a multiple chapter No Hale Fire AU, I thought it'd be nice to talk a little about them. Including the canon Hales for completion, as well as my family tree for visual context on who is related in what way.

A brief who's who, with more details under the cut, left to right, top to bottom:

Laura Hale (2) - Derek Hale - Cora Hale

James Hale | faceclaim: Jack Coleman

Born 1958 to David and Agnes Hale, younger brother of Logan and Laura, uncle of Talia, Peter and Aaron.

Beta wolf of the Hale Pack Peter and Talia grew up in. He was Peter's favorite family member and the one to dote most on Peter as a child. He was also Pack Mom of his generation.

Laura Hale | faceclaim: Joanna Gleason

Born 1948 to David and Agnes Hale, older sister of James, twin-sister of Logan and aunt of Talia, Peter and Aaron.

She was the Left Hand of the old Hale Pack, ruthless and efficient. At times uncaring, but more so out of necessity because if she let things get to her, she wouldn't be able to do her job. A strategist to boot. She taught Peter everything he knows about strategy, being prepared and killing efficiently to protect the pack and territory. The reason Peter was Left Hand so young was because Laura died during a mission. Talia named her firstborn after their aunt.

Logan Hale | faceclaim: Mark Harmon

Born 1948 to David and Agnes Hale, older brother of James, twin-brother of Laura, father of Talia, Peter and Aaron.

Alpha of the old Hale Pack. He wasn't overly present in his children's lives because of his duties as Alpha and his obligations to the territory. He died when Peter was 12 years old and Talia was 23, making her the new Alpha.

Damon Hale, born Dubois | faceclaim: Ed Quinn

Born 1966, husband of Talia and father of Laura, Derek and Cora.

He married into the Hale family and took his wife's last name, since she was the future Hale Alpha and he was human. He never took the bite and never felt the need to, because the family accepted him as human.

He took over the Pack Mom duties after James passed away and was Pack Mom in the pack Derek and his siblings grew up in. He was a doting and loving father who never missed a recital or game and he was a total Wife Guy who adored Talia and supported her both as an Alpha and in her job.

Fiona Hale, born Collins | faceclaim: Lauren Ambrose

Born 1977, wife of Aaron and thus sister-in-law of Talia and Peter.

Fiona is a born wolf. She was originally a member of Satomi Ito's pack and during a meeting between the packs, met Talia and Peter's brother Aaron. The two had a whirlwind romance and she uprooted her life to join the Hale Pack.

She's what would constitute Derek's wine aunt. Bad advise and enabling the kids when they were teenagers. Which never ceased to frustrate Talia, since Fiona is Talia's Right Hand. Giving good advise is quite literally her role in the pack. But Fiona is a firm believer that teenagers don't need good advice, they need fun.

Dalia Hale, born Braddock | faceclaim: Mimi Kuzyk

Born 1950, wife of Logan, sister-in-law of James and Laura, mother of Talia, Peter and Aaron.

Dalia is a druid and came to the Hale Pack as the apprentice of David Hale's Emissary, back when Logan was a young man. Logan was instantly smitten with her and tried to woo her, but Dalia wasn't having any of that, she wanted to earn her stripes and not get special treatment for being the girlfriend of the Alpha's son.

Only when her apprenticeship ended did she accept his courting. When Logan became Alpha of the Hale Pack, she became his Emissary.

As much as I love her, I don't think she was the best mother. Her magic and duties as Emissary tended to take her time away, much like her husband's. She loved them fiercely and when they needed her, she was always there for them, but rules and structure weren't exactly hers, she left that aspect of parenting to James and Laura.

Only after her husband's passing, when she retired as Emissary due to her own grief, did she play a much more prominent role in her children's life.

Born 1966 to Logan and Dalia Hale, older sister of Peter and Aaron, wife of Damon and mother of Laura, Derek and Cora.

I've seen it a lot in fics that Peter was the unexpected late addition to the family, but personally, I prefer to flip that. Talia was the unplanned teen pregnancy that neither Logan nor Dalia were ready for, while Peter and Aaron were the planned children they had when they were more ready for parenthood.

Talia, more so than her younger brothers, was mostly raised by her uncle James and her aunt Laura, which is why she named her firstborn after her aunt.

As a parent, I think that she takes after both her father and mother though. She too valued her role in their society and her duties as Alpha very highly and wasn't as present in her children's life as she could have, or should have, been, but she did love them.

Aaron Hale | faceclaim: Ian Somerhalder

Born 1978 to Logan and Dalia Hale, younger brother of Peter and Talia, husband of Fiona and father of Sloan and Jason.

Unlike his siblings, Aaron is human. He never wanted the bite though, because being a werewolf came with responsibilities to the pack that could be dangerous in a manner he wasn't really into. He cared deeply about his family, but the whole fangs and claws and fighting part wasn't exactly his.

That being said, he still fell in love with a werewolf and had two werewolf children. And he was very, very grateful to live with his pack and family and have the support, because he did not know if he'd have managed raising them all on his own with Fiona.

Peter Hale | actor: Ian Bohen

Born 1978 to Logan and Dalia Hale, brother of Talia and Aaron, father of Malia.

Beyond canon, I am a big fan of him being Talia's Left Hand. In my fics, he learned the trade from his aunt Laura. And though he loved her, a part of him also somewhat resented her for teaching him to kill so young. A part of him would always wonder what kind of person he would have become of he hadn't.

So he has more love for his uncle James, which is why in my Steter fics, his and Stiles' firstborn is named James, after Peter's uncle.

He loves his mother dearly. She was there when it counted and the parts she didn't care for, quite frankly, he didn't care for either. He was definitely a spoiled child, between his uncle, his aunt who mentored him, his mother doting on him. I like to think that Talia was quietly jealous of the childhood he got and the attention from their parents that he got. Sure, Logan mentored Talia as the future Alpha, but he didn't exactly do paternal things with her, while he took his sons to ball games and at least tried.

Peter and Aaron were incredibly close growing up, they were only two years apart and Aaron trailed after Peter like a lost puppy, copying everything that his cool older brother did, while Peter adored Aaron.

I like to think that that factors into why Peter spent so much time with Derek. By the time Derek was a teenager, Aaron had an eight year old and a two year old and was happily married. No longer trailing after his cool older brother. Derek filled that void, Derek looked up to his cool uncle who wasn't all that much older than him.

Sloan Hale | faceclaim: Kat McNamara

Born 1995 to Aaron and Fiona Hale, older sister of Jason, niece of Peter and Talia, cousin of Laura, Derek and Cora.

Sloan is two years younger than Cora but a bit of gifted child who skipped a year and ended up one grade ahead of Cora. She's hard working and ambitious, ran for student president as soon as she could and started planning her college career in kindergarten. She's also a born werewolf, taking after her mother.

Born 2001 to Aaron and Fiona Hale, younger brother of Sloan, nephew of Peter and Talia, cousin of Laura, Derek and Cora.

He was only four when the Hale Fire happened, the youngest member of the Hale Family. If he had lived, he would have grown into a very mischievous young man and the absolute bane of his sister's existence.

He would also adore Stiles and trail after him to learn pranks from him.

Malia (Tate) Hale | actor: Shelley Hennig

Born 1994 to Peter and Corinne, niece of Talia, cousin of Laura, Derek and Cora. Adopted by Henry and Evelyn Tate in canon continuity.

One way of me being able to actually write Talia without seething is by changing what Talia did to Peter about Malia. Instead of taking his memories, the pack should have helped him raise her. So in my No Hale Fire AUs, she is usually raised by single parent Peter with the help of the pack. Which just makes so much more sense to me.

Being raised alongside her cousins, I think that she would have been close to Cora and Sloan in particular, since the three are very close in age. Though that also often caused them to fight, more like siblings than cousins.

Her and Peter would be very close if he got to raise her and she would have become his apprentice as Left Hand. Not by force of tradition but by choice.

Laura Hale | faceclaim: Meghan Ory

Born 1985 to Damon and Talia Hale, niece of Peter, big sister of Derek and Cora, cousin of Malia.

We don't know her exact age, but I headcanon her to be three years older than Derek, making her only just eighteen by the time the Hale Fire happens. Because being young, traumatized and overwhelmed is the only way I can see her abandoning Peter.

Without a Hale Fire, I have grown very fond of the idea of her going to New York to study at Julliard. I am giving her a passion for musicals and a Broadway career.

Derek Hale | actor: Tyler Hoechlin

Born 1988 to Damon and Talia Hale, nephew of Peter, brother of Laura and Cora, cousin of Malia.

I like to think that without a Hale Fire, he would have gotten to focus on his athletics more. Though career wise, I've grown very fond of Derek as a fire fighter, whether there is a Hale Fire or not.

He would have studied under his aunt Fiona to become the next Right Hand one day, though he finds pack politics really boring and doesn't think that he'll be needed in that role any time soon anyway.

Cora Hale | actor: Adelaide Kane

Born 1993 to Damon and Talia Hale, niece of Peter, younger sister of Derek and Cora, cousin of Malia.

I think that Cora would have gotten along particularly well with Jason and the two of them would have hung out a lot with their uncle Peter.

She was also close to Malia and Sloan, the three cousins being like the cool girls from the founding family of the town that everyone at school whispered about.

By tradition, she was meant to become the next Left Hand, to Laura's future Alpha, but when Malia showed more interest in her father's work than Cora ever mustered, she gladly gave that duty up to Malia.
