- What did you enjoy most about CAS?
I think that the reflection part of it was the most valuable for me. Without CAS I would still do all of the activities I did. Yet, CAS gave the the opportunity to write down my thoughts, which certainly increased the amount of my reflections and made them more precise and accurate. It also provided me with the library of my development. I can quickly look at my last 18 months and say in which areas have I developed the most, and which still need my atenttion.
- What was your greatest challenge and how did you overcome this?
One of the greatest challenges I have faced was breaking my wrist in IB1. Usually, people would simply rest and not train at all. Yet, I have not only still remained active, but also kept my acrobatics training and even landed new tricks in the process. I was just more cautious of the moves that might injure it more and avoided them until it healed again.
- What have you achieved through CAS?
I have achieved the biggest collection of my day-to-day achievements in my life. Never in my life have I written this much about my experiences, my development, my plans and dreams. And suddenly it all exists in such a short period of time. Now, I can look back, at my CAS project, or CAS activities, and say that it was all worth it, and that I will still do this things in the future. CAS has showed me the power of reflection
- What abilities and skills did you develop most significantly in CAS?
The area, to which I was committed the most, and in which I have also developed the most, is certainly tricking. I have learned multiple new tricks in the process, including such bangers as: double-side flip on airfloor, triple sideflipe on quad, double layout on quad, standing full on airfloor, tornado 540 to sideflip combos, double leg twists and many more. Yet, besides these tricks I have developed the ability to train very effectively in sports and set my own goals and achieve them quickly.
- Which learning outcome did you find most easy to achieve? Most difficult to achieve?
The most easy one was certainly the LO4, as I stick to my goals, and rarely do things for a short time. Moreover, most of my CAS activities were things that I have done before, and will do in the future, so I had no plans of ending them, and just for example trained tricking every week. The most hard one was the LO5, as unfortunately I do many activities alone. It was obiously not a case for CAS Project, but most of my sports are individual sports, as are most of my creativity activities.

Latin
The last 18 months of learning this language have certainly been a pleasure to me. It also certainly was a pleasure for our teacher. Each time he sees us, there is a visible joy in his eyes. Joy that some other people share the passion for antic history and classics with him, and that he can use his very vast knowledge and experience and pass it onto other people.
I wish to become such teacher in the future. Not the Latin one but the one, whose eyes will shine every time he can teach someone and use his own knowledge and skills.

Today I have learned the grammatical construction of Present Perfect, but in Latin. Still, it is much more simmilar to German than to English. It might be one of the reasons why I sometimes have an intuition for this language - maybe knowing German just helps in learning other languages?

One of the most commonly used words in any language, and certainly in Latin are pronouns. In Latin, simmilarly to Polish or German, they provide the reader with additional information, as they can be conjugated. Yet, as they can provide more information, they are certainly harder to learn than the English ones. Still, from Polish I know that it is a thing worth of learning.

Latin
Going back to Latin after long Christmas break was an easier task than initially expected. Even though my grammar is still not the best, and I often make mistakes, I have found that I have gained a kind of language intuition for Latin. Hence, sometimes despite not remembering the rules of certain grammatical structures I still get them right just by intuition.

War in Ukraine
As the War in Ukraine broke out, it was in our family’s greatest interest to help as many people as we can. I will not publish any photos to keep the privacy of our guests, but for the nearest weeks we are sharing our house with additional 7 people escaping the Ukrainian War. I still haven’t given blood, but will do that in the nearest future. Additionally we supported several other houses hosting Ukrainian immigrants with needed resources. No big reflection in this post, just want to help others, and provide them with safety and family warmth, so that they can escape the country filled with war.

Today’s discussion about the protests in Canada was at least weird in my opinion, as it looked like much more important crisis was about to happen. And as I am writing this it already happened - the war in Ukraine started. The tragedy struck Europe, and currently I am focusing on more important problems, than the one’s in Canada, yet it was an interesting topic to talk about. Still the discussion quickly switched to the topic of Ukraine, as it was of much greater interest for us to discuss it.

Today’s Amnesty International meeting was dedicated to another controversial topic of Pegasus - the international system of the invigilation used to track criminals in terrorists. It works in a very similar manner to the program Prizm in the US - most commonly known as the program which was revealed by Edward Snowden. Both of them are supposedly used for the defence purposes. Yet, even though they might be successful in this manner, they breach the individual’s right to privacy, which makes them a worthy topic of discussion.

Today we have talked about the plans of the polish government to introduce an act, which would limit the foreign influences in the polish media outlets in the form of ownership. This act is often called “LEX TVN”, as at first it would mostly influence one of the biggest media outlets in Poland “TVN”, which is owned by the american Discovery Group. Many argue that such a move is a direct threat to the freedom of speech in Poland and that it would increase the govermental rule over the “fourth estate”.

I am curious how many tricks are there that I can get for free? Let me explain.
When training acrobatics, tricking, parkour, or any other freestyle sport you often focus on certain tricks and just neglect the other. As a freestyle disciplines the number of possible tricks is just tremendous. Hence, sometimes it happens that just by trying a certain trick you get it the first time nearly without trying. It is was it means that you have it for free - you already learned the trick, but just didn’t knew it. This standing full was certainly one of such tricks for me.

The last year has been awesome for me in the context of progress in sports. It was this year that I have done some of my best tricks on trampoline and airfloor. And finally I get to move some of it onto skis. I finally get to own them, as I have finally landed my first backflip on skis.
I always believe that multiple sports are very similar to each other, and that success in one of them might indicate success in another. This is certainly a proof of that

To be honest, landing this trick was one of my biggest achievements in my life. I have never been so persistent in trying something and slamming down the floor each time. Double sideflip on the airfloor was something unimaginable for me two years ago. Yet, I have spent these two years trying it, and getting closer and closer with each bail and slam, and finally, after multiple months of trying I finally have it - the double sideflip on airfloor. I still have to do it many more times, but it still makes me very proud - I have never seen anyone do it in Poland, and only a few people in the World. Yet, I think that the next step is doing it on the springfloor and then on ground. Another two years of slamming are still ahead of me. Wish me luck, and enjoy the happiness in my eyes!

After Christmas I used my free time to go to Bieszczady for a few days to enjoy Ski-touring - still a niche sport in Poland. Unfortunately, the first few days were lacking snow. Yet, as it is in the mountains, the weather changes very quickly. In one night fell more than 30 cm of snow, which was just enough to climb a few mountains in the area.
The experience of the skitouring itself is very rewarding. Usually, when you ski, you do not feel that much gratitude for going down the mountain, as you can be back on the top within a few minutes using a ski lift. Yet, when every meter that you go down, you also have to climb, it is only then that you enjoy each meter much more.

The Amnesty International Meetings have ended for this year, but I still want to give an idea to all of the actions we do as these organization.
I think that solving humanitarian problems is our main goal as the organization. And that having a global perspective of humanitarian problems is helpful in solving the local ones. Yet, solving the global problems is much harder. I believe that as a small school-based organization we should learn more about our local problems as well. It would not only allow us to really help the people in need, but it would also give as a local perspective of the global problems, and utilize our global outlook.
