So, today is the day Steven Universe ends... But is also the 24th anniversary of Neon Genesis Evangelion’s final episode, “The Beast that Shouted “I” at the Heart of the World“!

So I decided to recreate one of SU promotional artwork (which you can fin here: [X]) but with Shinji instead of Steven. Sketch, Inking and main colours were done in FireAlpaca, then I switched to Photoshop to add the shadows/highlights and some other effects/adjustments.

Oh, hai, I’m still alive and kicking apparently.

As a certain project, as well as other stuff in life, are basically keeping me away from tumblr, I decided to self-indulge in a quick Stravaganza fanart to celebrate the day of the Corsa Stellata (as well as tomorrow’s Palio in irl Siena).

Since later in the Filippo Nucci and Beatrice become the new Duke and Duchess of Classe, this is them wearing the blue and white robes of the Water-Carrier, the contrada associated with the City of Ships (although the pink accents may create some confusion with the neighbor contrada of the fishes)

A Sailor Moon redesign, or rather, my take on an hypothetical mid-to-late-season power-up, similar to the Super upgrade but set in season 1 (hence the prism brooch).

The fluffy gown was inspired by Smile Precure’s Ultra power-up. Moreover, since the revelation of Usagi as Serenity is a crucial point of the season, some details are inspired by the princess outfit.

The other 4 inner senshi have already been sketched and scanned, but heaven knows if when I’ll be able to ink and color them 😓

“The Witch’s Meadow”

An illustration i did for an upcoming witch-themed narrative anthology scheduled to come out around Halloween. Since the story I had to Illustrate is basically a romance between a flower witch and a half-wolf guy set in Majella, Italy, I went for a softer, art-nouveau-inspired style. (Also the jewels are totally a callback to Clamp’s Rayearth aesthetic)

Things to do when you have an artblock:

Go grab a random pose, ore look for that one image that feels right for the moment.

Challenge yourself by drawing something you are not familiar/comfortable with (in my case,backgrounds and architecture).

This took me half a day, but I’m pretty satisfied with the result. I’ll most definitely color it tomorrow.  Nico, Eli and Rio having a well-deserved snack after a battle. Their battle costume is inspired by those of the gladiators.

Youth x War x Reincarnation.

“Knights of Almadel” is a story that has been roaming around my mind for at least the past five years. Recently, while I was busy finishing two other short stories, I decided to try and play around with it a little more, in the hopes of making my story more consistent.

These are the four main characters. From left to right, Rio, Nico, Eli and Wilfried.

Another sneak-peek of the comic I’m currently working on. This one is actually a full page! And the bad guy is soon to be dealt with in an effective, albeit painful way.

On one hand, working on this comic helped me a lot practicing with different things, and allowed me to step out of my comfort zone in more than one aspect (especially when it comes to backgrounds). On the other, I’M SO DAMN TIRED OF THIS -  there’s only, like, 1 and a half page to finish, but it feels like I’ve been doing this since forever .
