I have a post about Team 8 in my drafts. They really got the short end of the stick in the second part of Naruto. They don't have the same attention as Team 10 or even a special fight. Kurenai barely appears; she's just a device for Asuma and Shikamaru. During their joint mission with Team 7, it felt like they could have come from three different teams, and the arc would have remained the same. It's kind of sad.

I've already discussed Kurenai's treatment, but I think I've only seen one other person mention it as well. She truly embodies the definition of 'deserving better,' more than any other female character. Oh her and Anko.
