My internship with IFortis Corporate

An Internship is the most crucial time in a sophomore’s career journey because that is when they start getting a taste of the industry and start honing their skills to excel in the corporate world. I am Soumik Banerjee and I am currently pursuing my BBA. It goes without saying that Internships are a core influencing factor when it comes to getting hired for jobs (good jobs at MNCs).

Because no blue chip company will hire you without any experiences in the industry. And in order to gain experience you should intern with small startups at least 3-5 companies during the time of your course, is what I personally believe. These days there are a lot of platforms where you can apply for an internship with several companies but at the same time it is also very difficult these days to find a decent internship. However, I was lucky enough to find a decent Sales and Marketing internship with IFORTIS CORPORATE through LinkedIn.

On 30th May I received the internship offer letter from my Reporting Manager/ HR, Leandra Pinto. She explained to me about the company and how it offers services in Information technology, Corporate training and Event Management in Bangalore, India. Also that currently Ifortis is organizing India’s first and largest school fiesta – STEP AHEAD

IFORTIS CORPORATE believe that businesses have a responsibility to contribute to a sustainable future for work, for workers and for the world. Hence they keep on organizing such events which bring out the best in people from all the fields. Some of their previous programmes are:

· #Entrepreneurship360 – Entrepreneurship 360 is a global initiative for ambitious career driven women across the globe who are ready to identify hone and expand their potential as entrepreneurs.

· #Solution for tomorrow – It is an exclusive program offering all 16-26 year olds worldwide the change the world with their ideas.

· #Youth should lead – The youth should lead by ifortis corporate is youth leadership programme launched in 2020, explores how no one individual has the complete set of leadership skills.

· #More power to women – The exclusive program #more power to women is aimed at highlighting women empowerment.

· #blockchanging the World- it was started as a mission to provide the youth with a well renouned foundation of the intersection of blockchain technology with technical practicality, the modern healthcare system, financial institutions, and a road map through the legal labrynth that is blockchain regulation to aid them in the decision-making process.

· #Go Green – IFORTIS CORPORATE signed an international commitment to reduce their footprint company-wide(IAPCO Plastics Pledge), as well as the footprints of their clents events, through sustainable design and carbon offsetting.

Like these only they have organized many such events that proved to me that they are actually into sustainable development of the society as a whole.

The event for which I was hired is called STEP AHEAD. . This is a virtual festival exclusively for school children from all over the world to showcase their talent and win attractive prizes. There were contests like story-telling, slam poetry, photography, art competition, speech contest, dance competition, singing competition, talent show, fancy dress, science contests, and even gaming competition- Fortnite. I was very excited to work on this project because there was a chance for almost every school child to participate and showcase their talent on an international platform and get their talent noticed.
