Awhile back, I was doing some research that led me to Neil Gaiman's online journal. But as I was looking through old posts for it, I got very distracted by an entry from 2008.
https://journal.neilgaiman.com/2008/02/102-pages-so-far.html
I’m going to need you all to scroll down to the bottom of that entry. Please.

I was shelving the books by the first letter of the first sentence. - Good Omens, 2x02
"It was a nice day. All the days had been nice. There had been rather more than seven of them so far, and rain hadn't been invented yet. But clouds massing east of Eden suggested that the first thunderstorm was on its way, and it was going to be a big one." - Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

My relationship with the sun has changed since yesterday. The best way I can describe it is I feel like I’ve seen the sun naked.

Solar Eclipse Shadows
These solar eclipse shadows form due to the distance between the sun and the leaves on the trees. The distance and the proximity of the leaves to one another cause for a "lensing" type effect, making the eclipse shadow clearer to the human eye.

a total eclipse is a pretty easy thing to understand. the moon passes in front of the sun and hides it. it's not that impressive.
except. you need to realize that we are the only planet in the solar system (or in known planets) to have this.
the proportions of the moon and sun, and the distances between them and earth, make that the moon is THE EXACT SIZE OF THE SUN. do you realize how crazy that is? how unique? how mathematically beautiful?

Michael Sheen talks about David Tennant 3 (4?) times in The Assembly (including the Good Omens kiss) :), 5.4.2024
ONE:
Q: Who's the rudest celebrity?
Michael: Who's the rudest celebrity? Have you heard of a man called David Tennant?
All: Yes!
Someone: He was Doctor Who!
Michael: He was Doctor Who. Doctor Rude! The rudest man.
Someone: Is it so?
Michael: No, he's not really. He's lovely. He's very nice.
(bonus - yes I believe this was a dig at David :D <3
Q: What about Doctor Who? (do you like DW?)
Michael: Doctor Who. Depends on which one.)
TWO:
Q: If you're in Doctor who, who would you play, the Doctor or the Master?
Michael: Oh...
Someone: He's put you on the spot again.
Michael: I'm on that spot. I mean, there's been a lot of very good Doctor Whos.
Q: There has been.
Michael: The first Doctor Who I watched was John Pertwee.
Q: John Pertwee. He was the third Doctor Who.
Michael: Right. Well, he was, and I thought he was brilliant. And then Tom Baker.
Q: He was the fourth Doctor Who.
Michael: Right, yeah. I think maybe the Master would be a good play to part.
Q: I think you'll be the good Master.
Michael: They'll have to bring David Tennant back as Doctor Who again and then I can be the Master opposite him maybe.
THREE:
Q: Can you just walk us through the before, the during and the after of your passionate kiss with David Tennant?
Michael: Well, I remember, I remember reading the script and thinking, that's going to be a big deal, and.... yeah, didn't really talk about it and just went for it. I remember seeing that everyone was quite moved by the scene and all the people who were working on it, so we knew that it had gone quite well. Yeah .And now we never talk about it.
The Assembly can be watched on here (with UK VPN :))

(first off: I'm not an astronomer, and I may be wildly off, but…) I had always assumed that "This too was incorrect. By almost a quarter of an hour", on the first page of Good Omens, was a throwaway joke. Today I realised it might actually be a reference; was it?
AIUI, Ussher said that although the creation occurred on the autumn equinox (22 September), he gave the date as 21 October to account for the drift caused by the Julian calendar, which was in use in Ireland at that time. I think he also said that it occurred at 9am Irish time, because that's noon in Jerusalem.
What just occurred to me is that Irish civil time is calculated from the Greenwich meridian. But Ussher lived in Armagh, 6.55° west of Greenwich. The solar time in Armagh at noon in Jerusalem is 9:19am and on 21 October is 9:11am. So 9am is off by almost a quarter of an hour.
Thanks for all the happy memories and the solidarity over the years.
I just want to show this to Terry Pratchett.

You're going to need a 100% reliable marksman. Someone you can really trust. Otherwise, it's lethal. Oh, i've got the perfect man for the job.
