had to walk past a man on my way home from work this evening who leaned over and whispered “how you doing?” right in my ear as we passed each other on a narrow sidewalk. I said nothing and kept walking. He called out after me “That’s RUDE, you know! RUDE GIRL!”
like... interesting take sir. I was the one being rude in this interaction? die.

north FUCKIN carolina, baby!
it’s all delicious. every single one. collard greens need vinegar to be real good, ill admit that, and you should throw some bacon grease in the pot for a real treat. to not have consumed shrimp and grits is a tragedy that you should rectify asap.
sweet potato casserole can honestly be delicious with or without marshmallows, i might have a tiny preference for without, but with pecans.
food discourse time……y’all.
put where you’re from, and your opinion on these foods in the tags.
sweet iced tea
key lime pie
fried chicken
sweet potato casserole. bonus: with or without marshmallows?
peaches
collard greens
cornbread
biscuits and gravy
shrimp and grits
fried green tomatoes

I’m watching this video of this influencer woman who was sexually harassed in an uber, and how this man started talking about how sweet she seemed and nurturing and he basically said because she seems nice she’d probably like adult breastfeeding, which is apparently where grown men pretend they’re breastfeeding. She outright says she’s uncomfortable, he keeps bringing it up. And over the course of the ride he was swerving all over the place, looking at his phone while driving, and he started insisting that she follow him on insta. So she goes to do it after him badgering her about it, sees that it says “follow back” as opposed to follow, realizes that he’s known who she was the entire time, and then he pulls up her insta. Which has pics of her in lingerie. And he starts commenting on her pics, talking about her body, talking about how she really would enjoy his weirdo kink, blah blah blah blah, and all the way through she’s like “not all men are like this, there’s nothing wrong with kinks like this, and I love posting pics for everyone to see of myself in lingerie because it’s empowering”
And it is KILLING ME. IT IS CLEARLY NOT EMPOWERING IF THIS MAN COULD USE IT AGAINST YOU TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CANT MENTION IT WITHOUT CRYING!!!! and I so feel for this woman but at the same time I’m like “perhaps you’d be more empowered without giving this freakshow jerkoff material and with a gun” because even if you never got in his Uber and he never got to TELL YOU about his fantasies, this man clearly whacks off to the thought of you breastfeeding him!!!

Literally I am so frustrated. This man walked into a store with an axe, hit three people with it (a man, a woman, and a homeless man outside) and all the articles I’ve seen on it so far say that “she” did it because he went on a tinder date and “felt shamed for being transgender” (because the woman wouldn’t touch him) when he went on a date with a woman who didn’t know he was actually a man until he showed up at her house.
So this man matches on tinder with a woman looking for women, does not tell her he’s transgender, shows up at her house, hangs out with her for hours, tries to get physical and is rejected, takes a shitton of drugs, goes to a corner store and tries to commit THREE axe murders???? And we’re supposed to pretend this is a woman??????? Men are a plague, whether or not they’re in a skirt.

“They hate women who dress femininely” AND “they hate butch women and want to know what your genitals are by your clothes”
You realize this says “they don’t want you to dress in traditionally feminine clothes” AND “they don’t want you to dress in traditionally masculine clothes” the fuck do you think we wear? Potato sacks???
How To Spot A TERF
It’s come to my attention that a lot of people want to avoid terfs, but just don’t know what to look for, so I thought it would be useful to compile this handy little guide.
What is a terf? The question I most often see in the notes of any anti-terf post. TERF stands for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist. A more accurate term, which some people have taken to using for them is Feminism Appropriating Reactionary Transphobe (FART). Basically, they’re transmisogynists masquerading under the guise of feminism. They’re also often anti-sex workers (swerfs), generally racist, and all in all very similar to your average conservative in most of their views.
The Basics If you’re lazy like me you probably don’t want to search every op to see if they’re a bigot, so here’s some quick and easy signs.
The url. Chances are you’re dealing with a terf if they’ve got any of the following in their url:
rad or radical
a part of the reproductive system (ovary, vagina, clitoris, etc. It’s a bit weird tbh)
terf (I know it seems obvious but you’d be amazed how many people miss it)
Almost any post about “males invading female spaces” is a terf attacking trans women.
In general, any post using males and females in place of men and women is a cause for concern. It’s good to check the op before reblogging.
Be wary if…
Their url contains the word female, especially if their avatar includes the lipstick lesbian flag or the purple triangle and axe lesbian flag. Some will be normal, nice lesbians, but you’re better off checking.
They talk about “gender traitors”.
They act as if every woman who chooses to dress femininely and wear makeup has been brainwashed by the patriarchy. There’s a long conversation here about gendered expectations and societal pressure, and that should definitely be addressed, but the hardline “you can’t choose to do this” rather than “question why you choose to do this” has its roots in terf rhetoric.
Conversely, a lot of terfs hate butch women (see the “gender traitors” thing above). Basically, these ones want to know what your genitals are by your clothes, and that’s just gross.
They’re aphobic. Seriously, the arguments used are almost exactly the same. It’s one of the few times the slippery slope actually works.
This isn’t a full list or anything like it, but it’s a start. People of all genders and sexualities are encouraged to reblog, and to add anything I’ve missed. All I ask is that cis people adding on take a couple of seconds to think if what they’re going to say is helpful and constructive. I know if this does get traction people are going to start arguments, but please take a moment to ask yourself if it’s worth it.

This girl on insta said “I need the A to stand for Asexual and not Ally because my mom told me to just get drunk and let my husband have his fun” girl you need feminism and a new mom. You KNOW she wouldn’t tell a man “just get drunk and let your wife have her fun” this is her saying “men are owed sex from women they want, whether or not the woman wants it” sexism. This is sexism.

I absolutely agree that we should play to people’s strengths and you shouldn’t automatically be judged by STEM but.... like, I love science, I’m good at it, I spend all day doing it, but I still think it’s important that I had to take band and phys ed and art and history and civics instead of just being allowed to only take science classes? I went to a high school AIMED AT SCIENCE STUDENTS and even they were like “these kids have to take 1 humanities class per semester or they will be little assholes. You MUST know about slavery.” & if my parents let me skip high school because I was an art prodigy, I think I’d be pretty pissed off about it when it came time to get a loan & didn’t understand how interest was calculated. Or if I was trying to decide on a medical treatment and didn’t understand how they calculated the significance of their results. Or when a doctor tried to explain to me how my vaccine worked and I didn’t understand because I don’t know about your adaptive immune response because I didn’t take high school bio.
Also, not to be rude but like..... Do You Think you could just pass the GED without going through high school? My brother did 3 yrs of high school before he tried to take the GED and go to trade school early, and he had to take it a few times and use a program to study for it. It’s meant to contain high school material.
Like I totally agree that if you’re a gifted artist and math isn’t your strong suit that should be more respected, but I very much think it’s important to have a working knowledge of a variety of things rather than finishing middle school and going off to sculpt???

Imagine what we could get done if we actually spent the effort to play to everyone’s strengths instead of just shoving them through the same grinder. The world would have been a beautiful place

It’s the proanthocyanidins in cranberry, which makes it that red color. It stops cells from being able to bind together, so bacteria/yeast can’t stick to the walls of your urethra/vagina and can be flushed out by urine/vaginal discharge.
HOWEVER, I want to make clear that there isn’t any scientific proof of this IN PEOPLE. That’s in the lab, in a petri dish. Most studies actually do not find any difference in the number of yeast infections or UTIs between women drinking cranberry juice daily and women who don’t. Cranberry juice is tasty and may potentially a little bit help prevent them who knows, but if you have an infection, PLEASE go see a doctor and get antibiotics/antifungals as necessary. Life will suck majorly if you get a kidney infection because you tried to treat your UTI at home. And life will suck majorly if you have to have a yeast infection longer than necessary, though admittedly that seems less dangerous.

You wanna talk about impersonating lesbians?
Hey I’m a lesbian trans woman and I feel like nobody understands this:
TERFs benefit from your hatred of lesbians.
Trans people and their allies are consistently redirecting their hatred of TERF ideology and their hatred of TERFs onto lesbians and they are playing right into TERF hands when they do it. TERFs intentionally associate themselves with and even impersonate lesbians because it enhances their political position. It strengthens their arguments to the public sphere about trans women being depraved men invading women’s spaces. I’m sure many of us have heard about how the genital preference debate is used to paint trans women as male rapists trying to attack lesbian sexuality; TERFs have intentionally pitted trans women against lesbians in an invented conflict. I can’t count how many times I’ve been called a TERF as a trans woman just for associating myself with lesbians and their culture. It’s getting to the point where lesbians feel unsafe just talking about their sexuality in public settings lest a completely unfair accusation of hating trans women is leveled against them. This is exactly what TERFs want: To silence the lesbians that are supportive of trans women so that they aren’t talking about their trans-inclusive brand of lesbianism. TERFs want to be the ONLY “lesbian” voices anyone hears, and when so many people are directing their hatred of TERFs unfairly onto lesbians, it achieves exactly that. It’s insane how effective this tactic has been. Our community needs to do better: You have to stop hating lesbians. There is no inherent link between lesbians and TERFs.
