WIP
I still have a lot of work to do with those arms…
Either way, this is my first attempt to draw this OC of mine.
Her name is Lee, she is force sensitive, a resistance pilot and trainer to the recruits.
I am going to add a background, but I’m not sure yet wether it will be an X-Wing or something else…
What do you think guys? Does she look like she’s a certain pilots type?

Graph Theory
So this is just the beginning of my likely rambling series on a little project I’m working on. It’s pretty interesting, but before I can talk about it I need to provide a little bit of background. So let’s talk about one of my current favorite mathematical fields: Graph Theory!
So what is a graph? Simply put, it’s a bunch of vertices connected by one or more edges. If you need clarification, check out this EXPART  illustration:

Neat.

Edges can have costs too! Graphs where there are costs on each edge are called “weighted graphs,” and they can provide even more detail when representing something as a graph.
So, why do we care? Well, we can use graphs to represent all sorts of things in real life. Graphs are applied to things like networking, DNA research, molecular models, and even all kinds of simple stuff.
Tumblr media
Roadmaps are commonly represented as graphs, with cities or intersections as vertices, and roads as edges. Actually, the very first problem solved using a graph was a problem about a map. It happened a very long time ago in…
Königsberg! Königsberg, Prussia, actually. Apparently, Königsberg had two Islands in it, with 7 bridges spanning between them and the rest of the city like this:
Tumblr media
Apparently, back in the 1730’s, it was super cool to walk around the city and think about whether or not you could cross every bridge without crossing any of them twice. Now that’s a city with real problems. Anyways, nobody had any really solid answers to this problem, and so the people of Königsberg decided to phone a friend.
And that friend was the Swiss Resident Mathematical Badass, Leonhard Euler (pronounced Oil-er.) Along with being one of the most renowned mathematicians and physicists in history, Euler invented graph theory when he solved the problem of the Königsberg bridges.
Tumblr media
Euler decided to draw a picture of the problem, making each landmass a point and drawing lines between them to represent the bridges. He then generalized the problem to be that of tracing each edge in his picture exactly once, forming a path; graph theory had been born!
Tumblr media
As it turns out, the people of Königsberg were probably pretty disappointed, as Euler found that there is not a single path that achieves what they wanted. A path of that manner, that travels every edge is now called an Eulerian Circuit as a tribute to Euler’s sexy math mind. If you’re interested in the proof of the Königsberg bridge problem, I’m pretty sure Wikipedia has it… Anyways, I suppose that only meant that they’d have to find another rather trivial problem to worry about.
So, there was a quick crash-course on the basics of graph theory. Hopefully it was entertaining. I’ll have a new post soon about the details of my project!

Saying “you don’t have anything to be depressed about, your life is great” is like saying “what do you mean you have asthma? there is loads of air in here.”
something my 13 year old nephew said to my mum after she claimed I had no reason to be suffering from depression, I repeat, he is THIRTEEN. (via rdjobsessions)
