Our experiences, relationships and surroundings during early childhood lay foundations that shape the rest of our lives, and future society. Supporting parents and carers, who are doing their best to provide for their families in challenging circumstances is essential and can have a life-changing impact.

The National Portage Association is a council-run, home visiting service for children from birth to pre-school age across England and Wales. The organization which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year provides trained practitioners who oversee 110 services around the country to help with their development.
During her visit, Catherine met the parents and their children, as well as some of the front-line practitioners delivering the service to understand more about portage and how it supports families on a day-to-day basis.
She joined sensory class and appeared in high spirits as she joined in with activities and spent time with the little cuties.
