End of Paul's (a.k.a. "Skipper", "the Captain") Blog
I will sign off here, as most of my best pics have been posted. I hope that Ty, Ev, Katie and Kayla will add more. We had a wonderful vacation in France - one week on the canals (Midi, Jonction and Robine) and 4 days in Paris. It was the trip of a lifetime. Some of our memorable moments include Ty getting kicked out of an antique shop, the loss of our sun umbrella, and most of all, Ev and Kayla's engagement. Hope you enjoy looking at our pictures. You can click or tap on them for a full screen view. Do it again to return where you where (this might be browser-dependent, but you'll figure it out). I think that my favorite shot is the one of the Narbonne train station at night. I got it by resting my camera on my suitcase to avoid blurring during the long exposure. Found out later that Ev had a tripod with him... Oh well, it worked. Thanks for viewing our vacation blog, --paul

We walked through the courtyards of the Louvre. The line to get in was very long and we've seen our share of great art museums, so we didn't go in.

Locks of love: this tradition calls for couples to attach a lock to 1 of 2 bridges on the Seine. The key is then tossed into the river to ensure that the love will last forever. Some scorned lovers have been known to return with bolt cutters, however.

Tapestries - Museum of the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, the tapestries that Susie wanted to see most were not on display. #lastoneispaulsfav

We woke up to rain on our 3rd and final (full) day in Paris - good day to do something indoors. Susie wanted to visit the National Museum of the Middle Ages (also known as the Cluny Museum) to see some tapestries with unicorns in them. Not being a fiber arts aficionado nor a big fan of one-horned make-believe animals, I wasn’t all that enthused. But, seeing that she’s the love of my life (and she paid for the trip) I did my husbandly duty and accompanied her. Well, it turned out to be a highlight, as the numerous pictures show.

Views from the rooftop at Printemps department store. Paul says “and the best part is it doesn’t cost a Eurodime to go up there - I give it 5 stars”.
