Enough about favorite books. What’s a book you read and absolutely hated? The book you’ve got a bone to pick with.
#i want to say gideon but i hated it more afterwards than as i was reading it.#ok checking my storygraph now and okay.#a marvellous light i did in fact hate.#it had no insterest in its own plot.#i was like why are they fucking!!!!! there's a murder!!!!!!!!!!#and that's saying something bc i love sex but those guys were so boring. bad book

love the library. there's no risk. you can take out a book and go "wow this sucks" and just give it back. and when you do that you're still making the library's Number Go Up so you'll be able to roll the dice on even more books. all for the low low price of free/you already paid for it with your tax money so you might as well use it

Queer Palestinian Books for Pride Month 🍉
Just a reminder: we do exist. ♥️
Please consider sharing this post, whether to show your support for Palestine, to boost awareness of these books (remember, reading is revolutionary), or to show your audience that you offer a safe space. I know it may seem small, but it makes a difference. Trust me. ♥️
Have you read any of these queer Palestinian books? If not, which would you consider reading first? ❓

an average f/f Literary Fiction novel with a central plotline about two women becoming romantically entangled is often hornier than an f/f Romance Novel with multiple explicit sex scenes because
in the f/f romance novels I've read at least the desire and the horniness is entirely contained within the sex scenes, outside of them the protagonist does not think lustfully about the love interest
but a Literary Novel will go on for several paragraphs about how the love interest's sweat slides down her wrist with a degree of desperation usually only seen in Tumblr textposts about [noun]girls
#i feel like the lesbian romance novels i read are actually horny outside of the sex scenes#but often in a very surface level way still. so yeah the literary stuff often hits much harder#but i do feel like lesbian romances can be very horny for real lol

okay bury your gays was easy to get thru (except for the gore..... im a little baby that was rly unpleasant for me) but boy did i just not rly enjoy a single second of that book. it just felt very surface level in almost every way especially the characters including the main character? the boyfriend could have been a paper bag, the best friend's main traits were dressing loudly and yelling, the main character has this show he's writing that he believes in so strongly but tells us literally not a damn thing about it or why we should care other than they want to kill of his gays. he's like it's brimming w queer joy but like dawg what are you talking about. at least tell me about it?? and he never does it's just a ripoff of his childhood x files ripoff. the plot didn't rly cohere in the final act for me and i get what he was going for with all this but it didn't seem to say anything of substance to me. but so many of the reviews are rly positive so maybe i am just a hater
#i feel like all i do on this blog is complain abt books....#anyway once again everyone read woodworking by emily st james. it's completely unrelated just a rly rly good book u all should read

this comment on that vulture article about the "fanfic-to-romance novel pipeline" is very interesting and not something i've seen articulated...much to think about...
