thought ‘what if the vintage skins were more in line with actual 1930’s cartoons design sensibilities’ and promptly went mental. plus a bonus two-tone dandy ! since he’s not playable and all

so some things i learned as i was doing this:

-solo cups were not invented until the 70s, so scraps has a tin can as part of her tail instead

-hoodies WERE invented in the 30s but were generally worn by warehouse workers bc of the cold. they didn’t get worn by the general public until the 70s, so toodles and cosmo are Not wearing them

-leg warmers were invented in the 40s but also didn’t get popular until the 70s so glisten’s legs get to be naked. sad !

-GASHAPONS WEREN’T INVENTED UNTIL THE 60s. GIGI SHOULDN’T EVEN EXIST HERE. BUT I DIDN’T FIND THAT OUT UNTIL I WAS DONE DRAWING ALL THIS. OOPS !!!

other than that it was just a lot of ‘put gloves and/or shoes and/or pants on them. sometimes noses’

Alright so here’s a thing- I’ve been thinking about Side Order and how it…..kinda lacked a bunch of things. SO guess what we’re doing today, plushlings-

We’re gonna talk about my Inka Rewrite version of Side Order! (Pt. 1)

Side order would mostly stay the same, gameplay wise. But here’s a main thing I would add.

#1: Palletes

When you unlock a pallete, the character who the pallete is linked to will show up in a specific spot somewhere around the order sector. But this is not “Actually” the character. They are just a projection of the person that you can talk to.

Pallete first obtained/not reconfigured: When you talk with them at first, they’ll act a little off. They won’t remember much, but will try to make general and hella vague small talk. They might remember some things the more you talk to them, but they’re just tiny memories. And eventually their dialogue loops if you try to talk to them too many times.

Pallete cleared/reconfigured: When you talk to them, they’ll act a lot more like their actual selves, and remember a lot more. You can listen to their rambles and even ask a few pre selected questions, to learn more about them. However, some memories/dialogue won’t be available unless you complete a run using their pallete a few more times. Basically, you use their pallete, you learn more about them.

When you collect both palletes of a group is characters (such as both the Squid Sisters or all three Deep Cut palletes)- you can talk to multiple of the characters at once.
