Uh. From what I’ve heard from people who’ve actually raised and eaten them land isopods actually taste pretty much exactly like shrimp. They’re not “full of smelly black liquid” the only reason they’re not very edible is because they usually have a tough shell (Cubaris and Armadillidium isopods at least)

If you want to eat them you want captive bred ones because wild caught isopods can be full of heavy metals. You also want to stick to isopods from the genus porcelio, they’ve got the thinnest shells so it’s kind of like eating shrimp where the tail attaches to the body.
