The Galerie des Machines ("Palais des Machines") was a pavilion designed by Joseph-Antoine Bouvar for the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris. The building was re-designed as a track for cycling competitions - the Auto-Vélodrome d'Hiver, nicknamed "La Glacière" or the Vel d’civ, and was inaugurated on December 20th, 1903.
