Saiki x Aiura relationship headcanons!

I really love their dynamics and I think they truly are soulmates like Aiura saw, whether that is platonic or romantic (in my head it’s romantic okay?)

→ antisocial boyfriend and way too friendly for her own good girlfriend ugh I love this dynamic

→ aiura paints his nails yellow and hers pink to match each other’s hair

→ kusuo pretends to hate it but he keeps them, careful not to chip them

→ would get annoyed if anyone pointed it out tho

→ their first kiss was actually initiated by kusuo, since aiura respected his boundaries and waited

→ they were on the rooftop talking and toritsuka had just left for the bathroom. kusuo just stared at her until she noticed and pecked her lips softly

→ she couldn’t talk to him without stuttering for a while lmao

→ kusuo doesn’t like pda and aiura doesn’t really care about it, everyone knows they’re together anyway

→ they have dates at home, with lots of dessert and movies and Saiki’s wearing his germanium ring

→ I think aiura has the coziest bed with hella pillows and fuzzy blankets, so they have sleepovers every other saturday

→ and then they wake up and stay cuddling for hours before they decide to get up and have some coffee

→ talking about cuddles, kusuo is really touch-starved I think, so he gets so happy when aiura snuggles into his chest after a long day

→ he likes being the little spoon more tho, he just enjoys being in her arms

→ in terms of jealousy, she gets jealous more easily, but she knows she can trust him

→ the only time he’d have to resort to pda would be if they were out in public and everyone’s thoughts were about how beautiful she was

→ aiura pretends not to notice, but squeezes his hand softly and gives him a reassuring smile

→ I feel like they’d have pretty steamy make-out sessions every once in a while since they’re both very intense characters idk

→ aiura would even convince him to go on a double date with kaidou and aren bc kusuo is just THAT smitten that he’d accept anything she said

→ overall really healthy together, always doing fun things and enjoying each other’s presence

drabble of how they got together!

“Why does Toritsuka think we’re dating?” Kusuo barely raised his eyes from the cheesecake in front of him, but he knew he fucked up somehow. Yes, he did let Toritsuka think he was dating Aiura, but in his defense, he was acting like a pervert again. Kusuo was definitely not jealous.

‘No idea.’ He shrugged.

“It wouldn’t be because you got jealous, would it?” She grinned and sat across from him on the table.

‘You’re funny.’ He let out a scoff.

“If you wanted to be my boyfriend, you could just ask.” She continued teasing him. Kusuo looked up at her with the faintest grin on his face.

‘Want to be my girlfriend then?’

“Huh?!”

‘Lost your chance.’

“Wait, wait!” Aiura chased behind him, slamming on his back when he stopped abruptly. “Are you serious?”

‘What would you say?’

“Yes, obviously! And it’s not funny to play with–”

‘I’m serious then.’

“Well, won’t you walk your girlfriend home?” She exclaimed, tapping her foot on the concrete ground impatiently. Kusuo turned around, a genuine smile and a pink hue on his cheeks decorating his face.

That's a great question because Saiki is definitely a neat freak while Aiura is a clutter queen hsfjdlshfks

So I think they definitely have to compromise on what their house/bedroom looks like! There are probably minimalist areas where Aiura only gets to contribute ONE funky decoration, and others where Saiki will just have to accept the eclectic jungle of goodies that caught her eye. In some cases, they put Aiura's pretty things in some cases so they don't get dusty. <-lol

They also have a small open space that is clutter-free so Aiura can use it to dance, and it's often where they host small parties with all of their friends. 💜

In their bedroom, it's compromise again. Aiura is definitely the kind of girl to have a ton of plushies on the bed, I think, but she'd keep them to a corner of the bed so as to not drown Saiki in fluff lol. And some of Saiki's bookshelves are going to be hosting Aiura's crystal ball collection as well. But Saiki has his own chill reading area that's empty of things while Aiura probably has a table of her own covered in fortune-telling things and glittery cabochons for bedazzling, lol, and those are sacred.

Reasoning in Brief:

#1) Nendo x Saiki

Nendo is the longest running character in the series after Saiki himself and immediately starts calling Saiki "aibou"/partner after Saiki saves him from a false accusation and he "saves" Saiki from bullies. Saiki uses his powers pretty freely in front of Nendo and Nendo always protects him, most notably at the end of the series when Saiki "loses" his powers. Saiki's bond with Nendo is so strong that even Nendo's father immediately gets attached to him in the past, and Nendo Sr.'s ghost is the only one he can see without Toritsuka's help. The second light novel states that without Nendo, Saiki would never have made friends with any other characters.

#2) Aiura x Saiki

Aiura's predictions are 100% correct according to canon and this is never contradicted. Saiki works with Aiura flawlessly in saving Yumehara's life multiple times in a row. Aiura's help was pivotal in stopping the volcano and she even helps in the cat tank arc despite not being physically involved. Aiura disagrees with Saiki's official stance of not helping others (though he's a liar who helps anyways) and they both grow as characters through the disagreement. By the end of the series, Saiki willingly accepts all of her invitations to go out for dessert alone together while knowing that she considers it a date and that she wants to have his babies.

"What if Aiura meant platonic soulmates?" <- every single one of Aiura's compatibility ratings and the other soulmate prediction given were explicitly romantic, unlike Saiki's favorability meter which seems to work with both platonic, romantic, and even parasocial relationships.

Toritsuka is allowed to physically hug Saiki at school in public even though everyone knows Toritsuka as The Germ and it could screw Saiki's reputation big-time. The cat tank arc literally has them saving each other's lives. Incredible amount of homoeroticism, particularly in the 3-days fasting chapter.

#4) Yumehara x Kaido

@mikosaishipper made a convincing argument here!

While they have the most explicitly romance-coded screentime of every pairing by far, Saiki never willingly goes out with Teruhashi and never considers telling her the truth about his powers. Teruhashi also never gets to find out about Saiki's real personality and struggles to compliment him even towards the end of the series. Teruhashi also doxxes Saiki to her simps in the invisible milkshake-stealing chapter even though she thinks giving Saiki any Valentine's chocolates in public would lead to both his death and WWIII.
