Day 100 of rewatching New Blood, still cannot understand why people hate Harrison when he acts like literally every teenager with an absent father and mental health issues. Just because he almost succeeded in murdering your king (who helped him do it by the way) doesn’t mean he’s evil, he's actually a better person than Dexter. Very strange, very weird.

All of you guys asking for a Brian spin off.. can you not? Just stop, please, it’s not even like I wouldn’t like to see it if it was done right but they’re not doing it right. They’re going to rewrite him again into an unnecessary evil little bastard again instead of actually sticking with the original character and his actual motives. They made him not give actually a fuck about Dexter before his mother died in Original Sin, I don’t want Brian the show from these actual dumbasses. I get it would get sort of repetitive to go over the backstory over and over again but they didn’t need to add all those flashbacks changing like the main lore of the original series.

Dexter is an unreliable narrator and his memories are often wrong, yes that’s true, but like they're retconning the shit that Brian, actual cold hard paperwork and Debra said and remembered so it’s not anything with Dexter remembering it wrong!! He didn’t remember that shit at all!! In New Blood, completely ignoring the fact that Harrison was born in 2009, they make him 16 in 2021 which is around 4 years off, just diabolically wrong. and again, in New Blood, Dexter seems to actually forget all of the lessons he learned in the original series when this is based ten years after, he repeats like so many mistakes from the original series I won’t even bother naming them. And Original Sin might as well be an au with the sheer amount of aging up and timeline fucking up they do.

Original Sin also makes Dexter look like a goldfish with selective memory in the series, retcons his older victims unnecessarily like his third victim from a drug dealer to whatever the fuck that guy was, makes Laura just not like Brian and makes her literally want to get rid of him/uncaring towards what’s supposed to be her five year old which was retconned into a seven year old (“a handful” and the fact that most scenes of Laura, Dexter and Brian focus on Laura loving or going for Dexter first and Brian getting scraps of her attention). But yeah, no Brian the show, they’ll fuck him up again and you know it, they’re probably gonna fuck with Harrison even more in Resurrection, looking like a mini-Dexter fml.
