In January of 2019, I was so proud and honoured to photograph Matt and John’s beautiful ceremony at The Gables in East Malvern. A gay wedding Melbourne style, even though lots of the visitors had come from near and far, the ceremony was conducted outside under the ancient pine trees at the historic venue in Melbourne’s East.
With our friend (and prominent gay Melbourne celebrant Bronte Price) helping this awesome couple tie the knot, there weren’t a lot of dry eyes in the house as they said their vows, and married each other under sunny skies, during a beautiful summer’s day.
More words in the captions below – congratulations Matt and John, it was such a pleasure to work with you before and on the day 😀

Just a short gig for me on the day – after discussion with Matt and John, they’d decided that they weren’t after preparations shots or lots of the reception – so I stayed for a little while to capture a few moment before heading off. So strange to be leaving a wedding in the middle of the day, but it was such a thrill to have been able to work with this lovely couple and capture their big moment.

New Post Tania and Chris - Toorak Uniting Church wedding and Carousel Reception has been published on our website - check it out at https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/toorak-uniting-church-wedding-tania-chris/
A new Post has been published on https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/toorak-uniting-church-wedding-tania-chris/ - Tania and Chris - Toorak Uniting Church wedding and Carousel Reception - 'https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Toorak-Uniting-Church-Wedding.jpg -
Just before Christmas in 2018, Tania and Chris tied the knot in a traditional Toorak Uniting Church wedding ceremony, with nearly 300 friends and family watching on.
Some very thoughtful advice, prayers and blessings sent them on their way into married life together, and it was a memorable ceremony for the readings, family led choir, and then the epic group shot out side afterwards. And also, a personal thanks for the amazing snacks provided to us all – for me, to eat in the car on the way to South Melbourne for more photos!
Tania and Chris both got ready with their bridal parties and family at family homes in Ivanhoe, before we headed to the church. It was then on to South Melboune Town Hall for some photos, before heading to Albert Park for more photos and a reception at Carousel.
Congratulations again Tania and Chris, all the best for your future together 🙂

Tania and Chris’ Toorak Uniting Church Wedding
These amazing cufflinks arrived as a gift for Chris from his (soon to be) wife. None of us could immediately identify the coordinates, and I have to admit I still can’t work it out. Anyone who can give me some advice?
Loved seeing these little guys absolutely smash their walk down the aisle at Toorak Uniting Church – well done little fellows!
This was one of the more eipc group shots I’ve captured, not just because of the numbers but because of the location, the time of day, and where the sun was. The guests did a brilliant job, and thanks so much to the helpers that assisted me in getting everyone into the shot – much appreciated! 🙂

New Post Bec and Dave's first-look and wedding at Forest Edge, Gembrook has been published on our website - check it out at https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/forest-edge-gembrook-wedding-bec-dave/
A new Post has been published on https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/forest-edge-gembrook-wedding-bec-dave/ - Bec and Dave's first-look and wedding at Forest Edge, Gembrook - 'https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Forest-Edge-Gembrook-wedding-and-Puffing-Billy-Station.jpg -
On the last day of Spring, Bec and Dave tied the knot at Forest Edge in Gembrook. With the stunning view of the mountains behind them, they exchanged rings, vows and kiss with friends, family and kids looking on. As Bec and Dave wanted to get together pre-wedding to capture some shots and portraits with family before the ceremony, so we met up at the Puffing Billy station, not knowing that the train would be there as an extra bonues (I think I was more happy to see it than the kids, if the truth be told).
Then we headed up to beautiful Forest Edge, where I said hi to Celebrant Kate before she got down to marrying these lovebirds 🙂
You might find a few shots in there of ring-bearer Tyler pulling the old “best-man-pats-his-pocket-and-pretends-to-forget-the-rings” routine …. except he wasn’t pulling a stunt, he genuinely didn’t have them! After the search party returned (with success), Bec and Dave were married and it was time for a cold drink, some shade, some portraits on the property, and a fun and happy reception.
Congratulations again Bec and Dave, it was great working with you and I hope you love this sneak peek!

  Puffing Billy First Look
  Forest Edge, Gembrook
I really, honestly thought Tyler was having a lend of me …
… turned out, he really wasn’t! The rings were located by a search party, safe and sound, and in their box – well done Tyler on providing a unique moment for most people at the wedding! 🙂
Forest Edge weddings = Views. For. Days.
In between courses I “borrowed” Bec and Dave for some golden-hour shots. They were super keen to get these, and the light was just so beautiful in the mountains between about 7pm and 8ish.
These later few are taken after the sun has actually gone down, you can see there’s no light on the hills in the background. It’s a great time to get out for a few shots – assuming your reception and timings allow for it to happen. If sunset is in the middle of speeches – well …..

New Post Felicia and Scott's wedding at St Eustathios, Reception at Two Ton Max has been published on our website - check it out at https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/two-ton-max-greek-wedding-felicia-scott/
A new Post has been published on https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/two-ton-max-greek-wedding-felicia-scott/ - Felicia and Scott's wedding at St Eustathios, Reception at Two Ton Max - 'http://img.youtube.com/vi/cVg5EJaTBFc/0.jpg -
Late in November in 2018, beautiful couple Felicia and Scott tied the knot at the stunning St Eustathios. Their traditional Greek wedding (conducted party in English for those non-Greek speaking types 🙂 ) was followed by a photo shoot in St Kilda, South Melbourne and Carlton Gardens. Everyone then headed out to the great event space at Two Ton Max to party it up! The day started early with preparations for in Newport, then I was back over the bridge to catch up with the girls at the family home in Burwood.
More in the captions of the images below as we tell the story – massive congratulations to Felicia and Scott! After all the planning, meetings, permit discussions and work on the day – I can’t believe the day arrived 😀
youtube
Felicia and Scott’s Greek Wedding & Two Ton Max Celebration
The guys all got ready at Felicia and Scott’s home in Newport. It was a busy morning with 4 groomsmen but these guys were absolutel stars in being ready, organised, and happy.
Couldn’t resist putting in a shot with this little cutie – best behaved little one ever!
Brilliant idea to stick this note to the door handle …
Then it was on to the girls back in the East, and finding a spot to hang Felicia’s amazing dress was a bit tricky …
… however with the help of the girls, the right hanger, and some hair ties, we hit it to hang just about right 🙂
Yes, there were tears.
And makeup fixes.
I saw this internal window and couldn’t resist framing a shot of Felicia at the bottom of the staircase.
We were going to get some shots outside South Melbourne Town Hall, however we’d all forgotten that it was an election day and the Town Hall was being used as a polling place! Nearby though is this cute little old shop/house, which I did have in mind for some shots anyway.
Then, after a stop at Carlton Gardens for a very express session, Felicia and Scott and the bridal party wanted to head to the hotel for a few minutes to freshen up.
That meant I could head straight to Two Ton Max and get ready for their arrivals.
Lots of love, laughter, some genuinely beautiful emotion and very thoughtful speeches showed just how much love there was in the room.
And a gelati can appearance was a brilliant idea!
Congrats again Felicia and Scott, it was a pleasure being able to work with you and photograph your big day 😀

New Post Kaitlin and Adam's sunny Spring wedding at the Eastern Golf Club has been published on our website - check it out at https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/yarra-valley-golf-courses-kaitlin-adam/
A new Post has been published on https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/yarra-valley-golf-courses-kaitlin-adam/ - Kaitlin and Adam's sunny Spring wedding at the Eastern Golf Club - 'https://www.millgrovephotography.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Eastern-Golf-Club-Wedding-Kaitlin-Adam-63.jpg -
Mid-November 2017 saw Kaitlin and Adam tie the knot under sunny skies at the Eastern Golf Club, one of the most stunning Yarra Valley golf courses for a wedding. It was just such a pleasure being able to work with this lovely couple, and I think you can tell from the shots that they had a lot of fun both during the ceremony and in the photo shoot afterwards – at least I hope they did, I know I did for sure!
Kaitlin arrived in a white town car and after Celebrant Tracey came up for chat, she sent our star page boy back up the aisle to collect the super-cute flower girls and escort them down the stairs and down that long, long aisle to the ceremony spot.
Then it was the bridesmaids’ turn, finishing with sister Amanda (great to see you again Amanda after your wedding a few years back!).
The rest of the story is hopefully in the images, so check them out – congratulations again Kaitlin and Adam! 🙂
youtube
Kaitlin and Adam’s – Eastern Golf Club
Really loved getting this shot, had to wait for a few things to fall into place, but people moved just at the right time to frame Groom Adam within the crowd, the little house, and the mountain behind.
Some regular guests to this Yarra Valley golf course’s surrounds – never a shortage of kangaroos outside Yering Gorge cottages!
Absolutely loved this little sequence of three shots, showing the initial setup, then the reactions from Kaitlin and Adam – just brilliant.
The girls having a chat overlooking the beautiful yarra valley golf courses favourite, the Eastern Golf Club
Beautiful flowers on this simple but very stylish cake 🙂
And that was it for me – just a simple Ceremony + Portraits booking for Kaitlin and Adam – hope you guys enjoyed the rest of the party! 🙂

Gorgeous bride Alanna 🙂
I’m right there with you big fella – well done on keeping it together 🙂 Also love the look on the other guys’ faces as they peer around the crowd to get a look at your beautiful bride coming down the aisle.
What a brilliant bridal party – thanks everyone for being to awesome to work with on the day. Special shout out to the kids – great job little ones 🙂
Absolutely love the shady spots at Bram Leigh when you need to escape a bright and sunny Spring Day – wedding venues Dandenongs have a lot of range!

It was such a pleasure to work with this amazing couple on their big day, and Alanna and Dave’s very kind family welcomed me as almost part of the wider family – couldn’t have had a more friendly and happy people to be around for the whole day.
What was reinforced through the speeches was not only the love that they have for each other, but the very real emotion amongst their friends from near and far, old and new.
It was great to be able to get outside for some night shots later on in the night – it’s always tough taking a couple out and away from the reception, but I really loved what we came up with and I hope it was worth ducking out of the party for ten minutes 🙂

Very lovely couple Jaida and Paul got married in October 2018 at one of our favourite spots for Yarra Valley Weddings, beautiful Ballara Receptions. They tied the knot in the Chapel, and Jaida was able to time her arrival absolutely perfectly. As I write this post, there’s heavy rain falling just outside my window – just as it was literally minutes before Jaida arrived at Ballara, and literally minutes after she entered the chapel!
With Celebrant Erin Rollason conductin a warm and very personal ceremony, it was then outside (and inside to shelter) for some photos before celebrating all the way to midnight.
Congratulations again Jaida and Paul – hope you love these! 🙂
youtube
Yarra Valley Weddings – Jaida and Paul
You can check out the rain falling as Paul and the boys arrived, with Jaida just minutes away …
… and yet bright sunshine as our stunning bride pulls in to the driveway!
A very touching moment when a special, lifelong friend gives you some kind words and thoughts for the future …
Well done everyone – we all got the timing just right on this one!
If you’re chased inside by the usual Melbourne Spring weather, there are a lot words places to be than this cosy chapel.
Gotta love Yarra Valley Weddings for all those green spots and spaces …
Raw emotion just got the better of Dad, and I don’t think there were a lot of dry eyes in the house …
… but we all get by with a little help from our friends (and wives and daughters;) )
A mix of Italian traditional dancing and some old-fashioned Oz Rock towards the end of the night meant the dancefloor was packed …
… until the happy couple said goodbye night and disappeared into the night 🙂

In October 2018, Tina and Nik tied the knot in a traditional ceremony at St. Petka’s Macedonian church in Mill Park, followed on by a dancing-filled reception at Witchmount Estate. I was lucky enough to have been booked to photograph these two lovely people as they shared their wedding day with their kind and friendly family and friends.
Check out the little sneak peek here, and there’s more stories and memories from the day included in the captions below.
Congratulations Tina and Nik 🙂

Tina and Nik’s wedding and winery celebration
It wouldn’t be a real wedding without having about 50 of your close family around for some amazing home made food and a few shots for breakfast! 🙂
Shaving of groom Nik by his close family. Traditionally this was because the groom was too nervous to shave himself – going by the beard, I’m not sure his assistants were doing a great job either :p
Bride Tina about to change into that amazing dress …
One of my personal faves from the day – quick bit of setup with a carefully placed window, curtain and flash to highlight the “perfume shot” …
Another of my personal favourites – this archway just framed Tina so perfectly.
A quiet moment while they check each other out in the wedding clothes – looking good guys 🙂
Witchmount Estate Winery Photo Shoot
What a stunning Witchmount Estate Winery wedding.
With the vines just coming into leaf, it’s just such a great time for a winery wedding – New(ish) season, new growth on all the vines, new life together as a married couple.
I really loved this little fellow – forgot to ask what the significance of him being a goat is – anyone want to tell me in the comments?
Seriously, one of the most stressful moments for me at a reception – I REALLY want to get that shot of the ribbon dropping down after it’s cut. Gotcha 😉
We ducked outside for a few quick sunset shots – who doesn’t love that golden hour light.

Bec and Clint booked me way back in November last year to capture their big day, and of the Melbourne Zoo weddings I’ve photographed, this was definitely one of the most touching and heartfelt. I don’t think there was anyone in the small group of friends and family without a bit of a misty eye during the ceremony at some stage 🙂
I met up with Bec and Clint pre-ceremony as they wanted to capture photographs before the ceremony, and although we were dodging rain showers all day, we managed to get the majority of the shots in before Melbourne really did turn on some Spring rain an hour or so before the ceremony was to commence.
Check out the shots below and there’s some more little stories from the day in there as well – and a huge congratulations again to Bec and Clint! 🙂

Melbourne Zoo Weddings – Bec and Clint
How cute is this couple? :p
We had a bit of a hike through the Zoo, with the help of our zoo wedding co-ordinator, to find the elephants. It was only then that we were told by the keepers that they wouldn’t be out again until well after the ceremony had started. So we headed underground to capture a shot or two with this guy, who played along just about perfectly. Working with children and animals – not a problem on this day 🙂
I absolutely love the old Carousel at the Zoo, it’s perfect for Melbourne Zoo weddings and photo shoots, and this was one of my favourites from the day.
Celebrant Tracey giving everyone some lighthearted and some touching moments through the ceremony.
A first kiss is always special, and the moment after showed how much the tension had now been broken. Although I wasn’t engaged to photograph the reception, I’m sure everyone had an amazing time being able to relax after the ceremony.
The ceremony and photos beforehand were all captured at Melbourne Zoo – https://www.zoo.org.au/melbourne/plan-your-visit/weddings-functions-and-facilities/weddings
Thanks to star celebrant Tracey O’Connor for the lovely ceremony – https://traceyoconnor.com.au/

Kylie and Colin tied the knot at Ballara with friends and family looking on in once of our beautiful wintry Yarra Valley Weddings. Although the rain did come and go through the day, it stayed away at the right times for this kind and happy couple to get some of the outdoor shots that I know Kylie really wanted!
More in the captions below, so read on down as you look through the images.
Congratulations again Kylie and Colin! 🙂

Kylie and Colin – Yarra Valley Weddings
While the girls were not far away, the guys were busy getting ready at a friend’s home in Mernda.
Colin and the guys stayed pretty chilled through the day, although I think the nerves had kicked in by the time Kylie started her walk down the aisle 🙂
With Kylie and the girls getting ready at home, it was great that they’d found a good spot to hang that beautiful dress, with plenty of room for the 5 bridesmaids to get ready!
Found this shot through a cloud of purple balloons – did I mention that this was a purple themed wedding?
Beautiful bride Kylie with the light coming softly through the window.
I couldn’t resist using this mirror in the bedroom. The light streaming in through the window lit Kylie beautifully.
Yep, I think the nerves really had started to work on Coling by this stage! Always a great moment to catch the groom as he sees his bride for the first time – just that this groom was very serious!
I loved this moment as Kylie’s daughters helped each other out with a couple of tears shed as Mum walked down the aisle.
Kylie and Colin and the girls showed their commitment, and mixing their lives together, with a sand ceremony. Personally I loved the simple choice of colours as well 🙂
Kylie had really, really wanted to get out to get some shots at the swing at Ballara – so much so that I think even if it was still pouring rain she would have got us all out there!
As it happened, the rain stopped and we were able to use the beautiful gardens as a backdrop.
Lights on as the sunlight begins to fade, with the reflections adding to this cute moment as Kylie and Colin shared a little joke. Gotta love Yarra Valley Weddings.
Couldn’t go without some shots of the beautiful Bentley parked outside Ballara, showing herself off in the fading light.
I’ve got lots more shots from this first dance – it was hard to narrow them down to just a few, but I think this is one of my favourites. So genuine and they really were lost in the moment together.
The Shoe Game. Always a great bit of fun and gets everyone to enjoy plenty of laughter. Although in this case it did seem that Colin copped a lot of the attention!
Great work by Glenn – DJ and MC Extraodinaire – from Le Grand Weddings on a great episode of The Shoe Game
I absolutely love the night shots at Ballara, being able to steal this lovely couple for a few minutes knowing that they really wanted to grab some of these special lit-at-night moments.
And as the party came to an end, it was off into the night.

Chateau Wyuna chapel was the location for Vanessa and Ben’s happy wedding in June of 2018. It was a perfect meeting place for friends and family who really had gathered from near and far to see them tie the knot.
I started out with Vanessa’s preparations at a nearby hotel apartment, I then headed across to Chateau Wyuna to catch up with Ben and prepare for her big arrival.
The weather was looking patchy, to say the least! And it was under a little bit of rain that Vanessa arrived with her family and lovely bridesmaid and flower girl.
Here is the sneak peek – congratulations again Vanessa and Ben!

    Chateau Wyuna Chapel Wedding
Loved this idea of the little plant pots, and especially the detail of having them individually named – what a great touch.
This series of shots with the horse were taken after the ceremony and reception, back at the family property. Loved the idea of the horse being involved and there were some stunning backdrops of trees and a rain-filled sky.
The ceremony was conducted by a family friend, and formalities were done by celebrant Steven Maggs. We then headed up to the main building for family shots in the Chatterbox Room.
Later on, after the reception, it was back to the family farm for some more shots with one of their horses at the newly prepared arena, with the backdrop of the Yarra Valley hills and trees working out perfectly. And the rain even decided to stay away!
But that’s enough from me – some more comments in the captions below.
Congratulations again Vanessa and Ben!

Winter weddings in Melbourne are always potentially weather-affected, but at least if you have a Tatra Receptions wedding, you have the beautiful and bright (and warm 😉 ) chapel to get married in, as the lovely Siobhan and Scott did on a Thursday afternoon late in June, 2018.
Having not met in person (video chat just worked better this time), it was brilliant to meet this beautiful couple in person.
The day started with the guys’ prep and then heading on to Tatra where the girls were done with hair and makeup and about to get ready. With the gorgeous little ones having arrived, we were ready to get Siobhan and Scott married 🙂
Then it was on to family shots and a bridal party shoot around the superb bush and gardens at the Tatra Receptions wedding venue. I really did try not to keep us all outside too long as it was FREEZING, but the bridal party did amazingly well – well done boys, and girls especially (good idea on the shawls Siobhan!).
We did sneak out later for a couple of quick night shots as well – check them out in the post.
Thanks again Siobhan and Scott – and a huge congratulations!

On a showery day in May in Melbourne, Hayley and Dan celebrated their wedding with a beautiful Sandringham Yacht Club wedding and reception overlooking the Bay.
Having travelled down from Sydney, Hayley and Dan both got ready at beautiful hotels in the South Yarra area, and then we headed out to the Sandringham Yacht Club wedding location for the their ceremony and reception.
And although it had been a sunny morning, the notorious Melbourne weather was to be a factor. We were all set for the ceremony on the deck overlooking the water, but literally minutes before Hayley was due to walk down the aisle, one of the heavy clouds let fly.
I’ve never had a moment like it before, where Dan and celebrant Sally looked at each other, and almost as if reading each other’s minds said “everyone, we’re moving inside!” 🙂 And just as well they did, as it really did come down there for a while, but nothing was going to dampen the smile on Hayley and Dan’s faces as the were wed in front of around 120 friends and family.
Congrations Hayley and Dan – after all those phone chats and Skype meetings, it was a privilege to work with you on your big day 🙂

Seconds after this shot was taken, 120 guests, photographers, videographers and celebrants made a rather quick escape ….
As you can see, there was no getting the smile of Hayley’s face – but then I believe that’s about normal for you Hayls 😉
With the sun setting, we just had time to scramble for a few shots outside (well done bridal party for braving the elements!) before heading in to get some more shots on the staircase inside the beautiful Sandringham Yacht Club wedding space.

On the last Saturday in March, we photographed the stunning garden wedding of Hannah and Tom at Ballara Receptions – one of the amazing Yarra Valley wedding venues close to Melbourne.
Hannah and Tom both got ready surrounded by close friends and family in their very thoughtful and helpful bridal parties, and then headed on to Ballara for both the ceremony and reception.
The ceremony by lovely celebrant Lisa Graham was very touching, with sweet and personal vows that definitely connected with lots of the guests, including myself!
Then it was time for a photo shoot, before I left Hannah and Tom in the bridal suite to go and capture the details of the reception inside. Introductions were followed by an AMAZING first dance, then a rocking reception that had everyone partying right through until the clock struck midnight.
Thanks again Hannah and Tom, and a massive congratulations! Hope you had an amazing day and enjoy this sneak peek 🙂

Ballara Receptions – Yarra Valley Wedding Venues
I thought this Lion Rampant might have been another Welsh connection, but turns out it’s more of an Aston Villa logo :p
This is one of my favourite shots from the boys’ prep – something about the light and Tom’s hand adjusting the tie just really seemed to work.
You really to have to make the most of a beautiful wedding gown like this one …
The setup at Ballara Receptions – the gazebo all ready at one of Melbourne’s Yarra Valley Wedding venues.
Loved those rose petals! Well done guests on getting some of them out in front of Hannah and Tom for me 🙂
The beautiful soft light on the last day of daylight savings lit the gazebo beautifully as we were wrapping up the photos for the afternoon.
One of the most amazing (and athletic!) first dances I think I’ve seen a bridal couple attempt, and wow did you do a great job …
… although you were almost upstaged by Emily (well done Emily!) ….
