I've gained quite a few new followers that are fellow Yellowjackets fans, presumably because I blog about Yellowjackets so much. I've come to realize I should probably let it be known that I also write fanfic for the show, too. I mostly post about them on my side-blog, @themarshmallownerd so that people only interested in my writing can have a place to find it without being spammed by all the miscellaneous reblogs on my main blog here. But still, here's a general PSA for anyone interested in some additional YJ fics!

As of making this post, I only have five projects posted. The first being a glorified character study for Natalie and Lottie, and their dynamic immediately post-rescue, as a general practice for writing in their voices - Onward to Eternal Day

My most recent project was basically an extension of OTED, detailing the moment that universe diverged into an AU by Lottie and Nat getting together romantically (featuring some gratuitous smut to self-therapize after the angst of s3) - Such an Old-Fashioned Word

There's also a third installment to the little mini-series these one-shots became, which is more just straightforward domestic fluff. Basically another attempt to self-therapize when I was going through It™, so it started out as a headcanon about Natalie being a clingy/very affectionate girlfriend that turned into 6K words, lol - What You Want, What You Need

(I have a fourth installment to this mini-series currently in the works too, this time from Lottie's perspective and featuring the other members of the Survivor Six (Lottie, Nat, Van, Tai, Shauna, and Misty) basically spending a weekend together and just checking in on how they're all coping post-rescue in this AU).

I also completed a more experimental AU about a year ago, based on the surrealist rock opera, Razia's Shadow. Another Lottie and Nat-centric piece, with undercurrents of TaiVan and JackieShauna throughout. Again, the most experimental of my fics, based on the fantastical lore of the original rock opera about the creation of the Earth via demigods and human artists, one demigod who fucks it all up for everyone, and the eventual restoration of the Earth's natural order when two denizens from opposite sides of the world fall in love - The End and the Beginning

As of right now, my current "main project" is another AU that more closely follows the style and tone of the canon show, just with the horror and supernatural elements amped up, as inspired by the novel Pet Sematary. Follows the novel's lore of a cursed place where people can be buried and resurrected, but they come back "wrong" in a way, and the chain reaction of that option being available to the YJ girls while stranded in the Wilderness for as long as they are. Contains my usual bits of character study, but really is a love letter to the show and its capacity for horror in a psychological, supernatural, and survival sense - A Lazarus Drug

ive definitely talked abt this before, but i literally cannot relate to the posts that are like "ohhh you guys ship them romantically when theyre soo much more interesting as friends". i contain multitudes. i think they are best friends. i think they are lovers. i think they are soulmates in a way that cant be categorised. these statements dont conflict.

we need to slow down a little I'm so serious. all these quick short videos on tiktok, ig reels, and youtube, artists releasing quick little songs for the trend, tv shows releasing episodes at once, people using chat gpt and google ai overview because they get answers quickly but no validation done for the source, we need to sloww downn i really do not think our brains should be running this fast
