If a fella makes a nebula right in front of you, how are you not gonna pine after him for 6000 years?

gonna be honest the way Aziraphale says “i’ll run it, you can be my second in command” was one of things that hurt me the most this season - or at least just running around in my head a lot
cause while Aziraphale would be taking over for Gabriel - Crowley would be taking over for Michael
In positions that are not equal - that Crowley would once again be below Aziraphale in the eyes of heaven
And after all this time? After making their own sides where they could just a them - not an angel or demon
It not a ‘we can run heaven together’ to Crowley like it is to Aziraphale, who later has to replead "we can be together” in a desperate attempt to get Crowley to understand
Its throwing them right back into their previous dynamic - a position of power between them
And then you have "You can't leave this bookshop" not only a plea to not leave him - to not give up the place they made for themselves, that is both of theirs - their safe haven
But also it is the place Aziraphale already runs and the place where Crowley is already the “second in command" as he took over when Aziraphale left
This is him saying we don't need heaven for that, we already have it here in this bookshop
That he can't make Heaven like his bookshop - safe

The breakup bandstand is so funny crowley called it their “third alternative rendezvous” like almost all their meeting places are romantic dates if you think about it: feeding ducks together going to the british museum cafe or meeting at a wedding-level-beautiful bandstand. Then they go and the birds are singing around them the light is fading they stand at kissing distance and crowley proposes they run off together. And aziraphale just breaks up with him. He does the equivalent of leaving someone at the altar. They are nothing if not dramaqueen4dramaqueen

Right after Aziraphale realises that Bildaddy-Crowley did not kill Job's goats, we have the scene with the children and Crowley sets the house on fire ("I'm a demon, I lied"). We all know he would never kill the kids, so why the charade?
I think he needed to test Aziraphale, to know for certain that the angel sees him for what he is, he needed to know that this tentative connection was real. And Aziraphale immediately proves that he does actually trust him.
The fact that Aziraphale trusts him means he sees the good in him. For a fallen angel who's spent so very long being seen as nothing but evil, just imagine how it must have felt to be truly seen.

I love Crowley because he's so aware of what Heaven, Hell, the world are really like, but he gently guides Azi through moral dilemmas and lets him find out harsh truths for himself, supporting along the way, but never forcing his opinions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Crowley because he does little snort laughs and cheesy grins. He bounces around all silly-like, unabashedly himself. He has such an infectious smile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because his style is always changing, not because he wants to be with the latest fashion (he's always a bit behind) but because he loves exploring and experimenting with his looks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because despite millennia of being told he's evil, he's still a sweetie with a heart of gold.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because he has a vast imagination and enormous will power. He's creative and adores human inventions, taking precious care of his Bentley for over 90 years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because he is so fiercely loyal and protective, not just of Azi, but of humans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because he's lived such a long, difficult life and he still finds so much joy in the every day, he's still an optimist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because he has endured immense abandonment and suffering, loss of identity, cruelty and fear - and despite it all, he's still kind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because he's immensely intelligent and wise and light-hearted and good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because even though he wouldn't believe it, he is so worthy of a happy ending.
There is such a special place in my heart for Crowley.

I'm sure someone already pointed it out, but– I just can't get over the symbolism of the church scene in 1941. How the bomb shatters the church and kills the nazis and leaves Aziraphale and Crowley behind.
The bomb literally destroys the Good™ (the church obviously represents Heaven) and the Bad™ (we know that the nazis represent Hell because that's where we meet them again. Also, they're nazis) but it doesn't do any harm to Aziraphale and Crowley, therefore placing them with neither Good nor Bad but rather something in between.
Tumblr media
Look at them. The sacred ground is scattered around them, not even sacred anymore, since Crowley no longer is bothered by it. What once was to resemble the Evil is now buried beneath.
Tumblr media
But there is Aziraphale, who used a miracle to save not only himself but also Crowley. And there is Crowley, who used a miracle to save Aziraphale's books. Because they care for each other. Because they look out for each other. Because neither of them is solely good or bad, they are shades of grey.
Tumblr media
We even see Crowley pulling the bag out of the dead person's hand, which could be interpreted as an act of ultimate liberation from the past. After thousands of years of choosing between Heaven and Hell, Crowley chooses to save the books for Aziraphale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though this scene takes place years before they get cut loose from Heaven and Hell respectively, it already depicts Aziraphale and Crowley as independent from both, as their own team. It's the visual proof that they already are an us.
In the end, it all comes down to them. When Heaven and Hell lose their power, when there's little more than broken pieces left –
Aziraphale and Crowley still survive. Together.
Tumblr media
Anyways, I'm going mad over here

eventually some poor whickber street shopkeeper is going to draw the short straw and be sent over to the dirty donkey to ply info from the drunk and clearly devastated crowley while his defenses are down and they’ll be utterly shocked and horrified when crowley slurs out the explanation that aziraphale has “gone to heaven”

The member of the costume department that chose that skinny, slutty little silver scarf for Crowley really hit the nail on the head. They took one look at that character prompt sheet and said 'this bitch gay as hell and I've got just the thing'

The fandom doesn’t talk enough about Crowley and Aziraphale having a room where they lock themselves away to speak in private.
The fandom also doesn’t talk enough about them getting “caught” by “police” and Crowley commenting about it being a hobby of certain policemen.
Brilliant social commentary and how it relates to their relationship being forbidden.
