hmmm...so by following canon, you mean canon-compliant or canon-compatible? Not canon-divergent... Not all of these are particularly plotty or especially smutty.

Something about "Lady Usagi"!!! Just does it for me every time. The setting, the plot twist reveal, the earnest care between them! I love it.

💝 “Ghost (touch)” by @linisen - Rated E, Soulmates/Modern AU, One-shot.  A soulmate AU where you feel where the other person is touching their body and thinking about you - like a ghost touch

I love how the two of them get closer over time despite the fact they they've never seen each other. This fic is so precious.

💝 "Tales of Two Ninjas" by @magmawrites - Rated M, Various AU, Series of unrelated one-shots. A series of unrelated short snippets and one-shots centered around Naruto and Hinata and their past, present and future. 

The summary says short snippets, but that's not true for most of them. Many of the one-shots are LONG. My favorite is the Master Servant AU, but all of them are amazing.

Hinata's characterization is just absolutely wonderful in this fic. The narration is also beautiful!

SO fluffy. I think about this fic every so often. The lake houses. Her son swimming. The bookstore.

I just love how deranged the characters are, and how everything develops perfectly and exactly how Hinata wants. Such a perfect fic.

💝 "Too Lost in You" by chloelapomme - Rated E, Royalty / High Fantasy AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. An insight into the arranged marriage between the heir of the Uzushio King, Naruto Uzumaki, and the eldest daughter of the Hyuuga house, Hinata Hyuuga.

Good kinky stuff, but also it's cute????? I love that for them. They are a happily married couple!!

💝 “I want you to cry” by Devahhole - Rated E for a ton of things like graphic murder, High School AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. A sociopath blinded by revenge runs into his greatest opponent.

that bj scene. the part where Naruto is telling Hinata that he wants her to cry for him. I die for that scene. It's like art to me.

💝 “If You are the Sun I’ll be the Moon” by vinczu - Rated T, Modern Soulmate AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. Hinata is afraid, she really is. Naruto after three years of military service is finally back, and she is happy. She really is. But she can’t touch him, she just can’t what if he isn’t her soulmate. What if he is.

This fic is pure gold. Everything about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pining is top tier, I'm telling you.
