JKR literally wrote a manifesto against nonbinary people and trans men, and smeared autistic people while she was at it, so can y'all please stop acting like the JKR bullshit is somehow an issue unique to trans women only?
Stop acting like this isn't a community-wide issue that affects ALL trans people. Especially autistic trans people.
Our trans brothers & nonbinary siblings in the UK deserve better than this. Stop forgetting them. Stop erasing them.

We need to talk about tumblr's systematic fatphobia.
Posts of fat people are being marked as "sexual content" even more frequently than they used to, but now we have this fun little addition as brought to my attention by a friend;
Tumblr media
That's right. Not just blatant kink-shaming, but now, if you make posts about or with fat people, you can now be flagged as "promoting disordered eating"! Multiple completely innocent posts of fat people literally just existing in their own bodies have already been flagged this way.
Raise hell about it. Reblog and share fat content more than ever. Don't let this shitty website tell you that your bodies are "wrong" or that you aren't allowed to exist publicly.
Tumblr staff, if you care about eating disorders (you fucking don't), stop promoting this sense of shame and fear and disgust towards the idea of weight gain. Stop shaming and censoring people for posting about their own bodies and experiences. Fatphobia kills. Fatphobia causes disordered eating. Fatphobia is the disease you should be worried about.
This has also been disproportionately affecting fat trans people, because of course it has.
Don't stop talking about it. Don't let this bullshit ceo silence you.

For the convenience of anyone else who wants to know, here's what it looks like.
Tumblr media
Apparently the Canada Food Inspection Agency has determined that the names on Snap, Crackle and Pop's hats constitute essential labelling and must therefore be presented in both English and French, and I kind of love that. Like, I'm not even being facetious to make a point about bureaucratic overreach – I genuinely think that's fantastic.

"le dollar bean" makes me even more uncomfortable than "unalive" because they're overtly turning the censorship into a quirky joke and selling fucking merch that says it and shit

Forcing your computer to rat you out
Tumblr media
Powerful people imprisoned by the cluelessness of their own isolation, locked up with their own motivated reasoning: “It’s impossible to get a CEO to understand something when his quarterly earnings call depends on him not understanding it.”
Take Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg insists that anyone who wanted to use a pseudonym online is “two-faced,” engaged in dishonest social behavior. The Zuckerberg Doctrine claims that forcing people to use their own names is a way to ensure civility. This is an idea so radioactively wrong, it can be spotted from orbit.
From the very beginning, social scientists (both inside and outside Facebook) told Zuckerberg that he was wrong. People have lots of reasons to hide their identities online, both good and bad, but a Real Names Policy affects different people differently:
https://memex.craphound.com/2018/01/22/social-scientists-have-warned-zuck-all-along-that-the-facebook-theory-of-interaction-would-make-people-angry-and-miserable/
For marginalized and at-risk people, there are plenty of reasons to want to have more than one online identity — say, because you are a #MeToo whistleblower hoping that Harvey Weinstein won’t sic his ex-Mossad mercenaries on you:
https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/harvey-weinsteins-army-of-spies
Or maybe you’re a Rohingya Muslim hoping to avoid the genocidal attentions of the troll army that used Facebook to organize — under their real, legal names — to rape and murder you and everyone you love:
https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/09/myanmar-facebooks-systems-promoted-violence-against-rohingya-meta-owes-reparations-new-report/
But even if no one is looking to destroy your life or kill you and your family, there are plenty of good reasons to present different facets of your identity to different people. No one talks to their lover, their boss and their toddler in exactly the same way, or reveals the same facts about their lives to those people. Maintaining different facets to your identity is normal and healthy — and the opposite, presenting the same face to everyone in your life, is a wildly terrible way to live.

She gets called a fucking “weirdo and a creep” for…
Tumblr media
Like holy shit these people don’t care at all about actual harm done to the community, they just want to isolate vulnerable and kinky trans women (note the bitching about “hey transmisogyny?”) I’m sorry this is so fucking upsetting.
