as you may have surmised from the title, this is my miniature horse blog! you may know me better as starkimages. I adore miniature horses but do not have one of my own. I will someday, but until then, this blog.

She needs to be boxed during the day and was too small to see over the normal-sized horse doors. So my old boss went out and bought this XD still need to add two more clips to the metal framing but my little girl is much happier being able to see out haha.

lunging and driving are excellent ways to exercise your mini. you can also take them on trail walks, or even just walk them around town if they are desinsitized to things like traffic and there are no loose dogs or anything like that around. you can also jump them in hand if they enjoy jumping.
some minis can be ridden if they are large enough and the child is small enough, but pony rides shouldn't be their only workout.
How would you exercise a mini though?
Lunging? Driving? Make a child ride it? Minis are able to do work too :P

No matter how much I look at these photos, I don’t think the transformation she went through in her first year with us will ever be any less amazing.

I'm sorry for your loss :(

You may not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, but apparently you can with an old horse! 13yo “Mama” (Beauty) has just begun long-reining training after the sad and very sudden death of my other mini (her daughter Star) two weeks ago. Star was going to be my harness project while Beauty, who can be pretty nervous and headstrong, did a bit of jumping. Now my plans have changed. So far she’s a willing (though argumentative) student.
