CLOSED STARTER FOR @littlef0xw0rth

It was a cold and windy winters evening. An open fireplace was lit at the end of the hall to keep the room warm. Chip was found huddled up in front of it with mountains of blankets around him, one of Charles Dickens' classics opened up on his lap. Oliver Twist. His favourite. He couldn't properly read, sometimes struggled over the language, but he liked looking at all the little illustrations nevertheless. He would always beg Belle to read it to him every night.

Tracing a finger over the illustration of Oliver meeting Dodger for the first time, he heard a little tap at the window, drawing his head towards it so fast it could have spun off its hinges. Tap tap. There it was again. Bearly breathing, he placed the book down beside him and quickly grabbed his wooden sword. He stood up, knight costume on, for he never takes it off — and slowly edged towards the window to investigate further, his heart thumping against his chest. Be brave, Chip. He whispered to himself. Mind you, he was a very curious seven year old boy, but that curiosity often led him to trouble.

Using his sword, he stretched out his arm, his other hand over his eyes peeking through between his fingers, and ever so slightly pulled back the curtain with it. Phew. A huge sigh of relief. It was just the tree branches in the wind. Removing the sword, he made his way back to blanket fort when suddenly the front door opened wide.

"AHHH—" He dives straight for the blankets.
