According to writings from Parselmouths, each of the Runespoor's heads served a different function. The left head (from the perspective of someone facing the snake) was the planner; it decided where the Runespoor was to go and what it was to do next. The middle head was the dreamer (it is common for a Runespoor to remain stationary for days lost in glorious visions and imaginations), and the right head was the critic; it evaluated the efforts of the left and middle heads with a continuous irritable hissing, and its fangs were highly venomous. It was common to see Runespoors with the right head missing, as the other two heads often banded together to bite it off when it criticized them too much. Because of this, the Runespoor rarely lived to a great age.

An Ashwinder snake with its eggs Ashwinder eggs were red and give off an intense heat. The heat was capable of igniting a dwelling within minutes of their birth. Wizards suspecting the presence of Ashwinders in a house had to immediately track down the nest and freeze them using an appropriate spell. Once frozen, Ashwinder eggs were very valuable; they could be used in a Love potion, eaten whole as a cure for aque, or one batch could be used for the Edurus Potion.

Train ride - The Wished in Witch

This is Chapter Three

Warnings: None i think

Wished in Witch Masterlist

I carry my case as Nanny walks on to the train platform. I fed all my creatures and dealt with all my plants in the case before we came. Fizzle and Nibby will deal with any issues that come up. Achilles is chilling in the office/library area I made in the shack of the case. Hopefully he doesn’t tear any of the ancient books, as well as my other books, everything from romance, language learning, and literature. As we go between platforms three and four, I see the Weasleys and an all too familiar messy brown haired boy. I nervously look at the wall. I’ve always wanted to do this, but Merlin’s beard. It’s kinda scary… How do normal magic kids do this and not get scared.

Nanny pets my head,“ Dear, you can do it.” I grip my case and run through the wall, I open my eyes and see it, the bustling platform 9 ¾. Hogwart Express’s red paint gleams in the sun, I hear Owls flapping nervously in their cages, Cat’s meowing in kennels, and Frogs croaking. Parents waving goodbye to their children. I feel a hand touch my shoulder and jump, whipping my head around. I see Nanny. “See wasn’t so hard dear.” She smiles at me. I hear the occasional swish of magic.

“Yeah, it wasn’t.” I smile. I hold my case as Nanny runs her hands along my sweater, flicking her wand to smooth my clothes.

She smiles,” Go on dear, i’m rooting for you, i’ll visit in the case often.” I nod and enter the train. I look in each cabin to see them full. I see Fred, George, and Lee Jordan. Their compartment isn’t full… should I ask? What if I bother them? A student walks behind me and i get bumped into the door. I watch Fred and George look up at me. I freeze and smiling and waving awkwardly. I internally cry in embarrassment.

“Oi!” He calls me into the compartment. “You lost, or are you here for the best compartment on the train?”

I smile nervously,” I, uh, i’m looking for a seat.” I say and hold the handle to my case. “ Could I sit in here?”

Fred grins, leaning back into the seat,” Plenty of room, if you can keep up with our conversation.” He jokes. George smirks from his seat and Lee Jordan speaks up.

“Don’t mind them. Come and sit!” He smiles and I shyly walk in and sit next to the window. The latch to my case clicks and I shut it quickly.

I smile awkwardly,” Thank you.” I feel my hands clam up. It always looks so easy in the fanfics. Stupid writers making it seem easy! I take a deep breath, watching as the station begins to slip away.

“No need to thank us,” Fred smiles mischievously. “It’s always a pleasure.” I look down quietly at my case. The three of them start talking again and I pull out my wand. I carefully inspect it , hoping it will calm my nerves. I could open my case to bring out a book but I have the strange feeling Lady might sneak out to steal peoples things. I try to do the cool pen spin with my wand but it falls.

George picks it up and hands me my wand,” So, you’re a first year, huh?” He asks casually. I accept my wand with a nod.

“Is it that obvious?” I ask. The three laugh and nod, I cover my face with one hand. “ I’m just nervous I guess.” I say to the three of them.

Fred looks at me amused,” Don’t worry, we can fix that.”

Lee chuckles. “Or you blokes will scare her off before we even reach Hogwarts.”

“I don’t scare that easy.” I say using my last bit of courage I don’t have.

Fred raises a surprisingly well maintained eyebrow,“ Oh? We’ll have to test that.” George nudges his twin.

“Give her a break, mate. At least let her settle in before we start scheming.” George’s lips curl up into an evil grin. Oh no… did I just become a target for the twins… I hug my case nervously.

Fred huffs dramatically but grins the same nonetheless. “Fine, fine, we’ll give ‘er a month.” I shift in my seat somewhere between comfortable and uncomfortable, letting their playful energy settle as they fall in conversation on pranks they should pull this year. Maybe this won’t be so bad… All I have to do is go through school… a magic school with an evil dude trying to kill people regularly… I’m dead. I glance down at my case, hoping Achilles, or any of the other creatures don’t get any ideas. The last thing I need is for the latch to pop open and a magical creature to escape in the middle of hogwarts. That’s what Newt was kicked out of hogwarts for.

“So, what’s in the case?” Lee asks, nodding toward it. “You’ve been holding it this whole time and you didn’t seem to have anything else on the platform, I saw you.”

I freeze and say the first thing that comes to mind,” My stuff…” I internally kick myself. Really! My stuff, no shit! George eyes me curiously but doesn’t press.

“Fair enough.” He says.

The old trolley witch comes by,” Anything from the trolley dears?”

“No thank you ma’am,” I say respectfully as the others order. As they are distracted with the trolley I open my case. I see a lady climbing up the ladder. I lean in and whisper,” No, bad Niffler, no.” She looks at me and sniffs around. I glare down. I close the case and lock it. I fall into the comfortable quiet until they start talking about pranks again. I watch the sky slowly turn a brilliant orange then grow darker. I should change into my robes… I stand and the three of them look at me.

Lee speaks up first,” What are you doing?”

“I’m going to change into my robes.” I say and all three boys react. Fred and George immediately exchange identical mischievous grins, while Lee Jordan raises an eyebrow in amusement.

Fred smirks, leaning back dramatically. “Blimey, already making yourself at home, eh?” Wait, do they think I’m gonna strip?

George snickers,” What, you’re just changing here? We promise we won’t look.” He says with such an almost believable serious face. They really do think I’m gonna strip.

Lee laughs, shaking his head. “Oi, You lot are gonna give her a heart attack before we even reach the castle.” I already regret saying anything. I clutch my case handle tighter, my face heating up. I grab my wand and tap my clothes and like magic they slowly change into my black robes, from top to bottom.

“It’s simple magic…” I say quietly. The three boys blink at me in surprise, then break out into identical grins.

“Well, well,” Fred chuckles. “Someone’s got a few tricks up her sleeve already.” He claps once.

George nods approvingly. “Color me impressed, firstie. You sure you’re not secretly a fourth-year in disguise?”

“No I'm not, I just like reading so I know a few spells.” I say. Such a lie, I know wandless magic and I came into this world with magic not from this world memorized. I also studied everything I could get my grubby hands on.

Lee Jordan smirks. “Yeah, thought you’d have to go running to the loo like the rest of the first-years.” I feel my face heat up under their attention.

“I just… like being prepared. I knew a lot of first years would go to the restroom….” I say.The twins exchange glances, their mischief practically radiating off them.

“Prepared, huh?” Fred muses. “We’ll see how long that lasts at Hogwarts, all firsties think they're prepared.”

George nods solemnly. “Best start preparing for some chaos then, yeah?”

I grip my case a little tighter, suddenly feeling like I’ve just painted an even bigger target on my back. “I’d rather not...” I murmur.

Fred gasps dramatically,” Did you hear that, George? She’d rather not!” How did he hear me! Stupid Weasley!

George places a hand over his heart. “How tragic. We’ll just have to make it our mission to change that.”

Lee watches them with an amused shake of his head. “Poor girl. You’ve barely stepped foot in Hogwarts, and they’ve already adopted you.” This bloody- calm maybe they are just playing up. I groan, slumping against my seat.

“Merlin save me…” I murmur and cover my face. I suddenly feel a shift in weight. I uncover my eyes and see Lee across from me. I whip my head to my sides, Fred is to my left and George is to my right.

Fred slings an arm around my shoulders like we’ve been friends forever. “Merlin can’t save you now, love. It appeared similar to an extremely large butterfly, but with a wolf-like skull in place of an ordinary head. When it was not flying with its spiked wings, the Swooping Evil shrunk into a green spiny cocoon.It could be quite dangerous, as it was an encephalophage — it fed on human brains — and its tough green skin had the ability to deflect at least some spells. It secreted venom that, when properly diluted, could be used to erase bad memories. If stung by a Swooping Evil, a person could quickly lose their minds, although the affliction was reversible.

This is Chapter Two

It’s been two years since I arrived. I told Nanny about my case after I kept disappearing into it so she didn’t worry. Achilles only got smarter and knows it. My shoulder length wavy hair is now to the middle of my back. I have been making potions and other things to sell at Hogwarts because, if my anxiety won’t let me be in the sunlight, I'll be in the shadows. Fricken Mafia boss activities. I push Achilles off and yawn.

“Willow, come get breakfast!” Nanny calls me. I walk into the kitchen and see Nanny putting a plate of bacon and pancakes on the table.

I greet her,” Thank you Nanny.” The smile on her face is so sweet. My heart!

“It’s okay, deary.” She rubs my head and kisses my cheek.

I kiss her cheek,” Thank you Nanny, I’m going to be in the case.” I walk into my room and grab my case. I bring it back to the living room and set it down. I open the case and step in, climbing down the ladder then down stones stairs. I run my hand along the magically created carved handrails. The stairs are below plants of the magical and non-magical potted in terracotta pots hanging from the exposed wooden beams. I make it to the bottom of the stairs.

I see the familiar room, even more greenery hangs in the room. I made it to resemble an old American rustic, countryside-style kitchen with a kinda warm and earthy vibe. The kitchen is built against the textured stone wall. I run my hands against the smooth wooden countertops, I open the cabinets, seeing the ingredients for feeding the creatures. I grab several and set them on the counter. I use a flint rod to light the fire for the old-fashioned flame powered oven and stove top that are set within the cabinetry. I grab a copper pan from the area where I keep pots, pans, and kitchenware. The floor is adorned with patterned rugs in warm, earthy colors, complementing the wooden furniture and stone textures. The small wooden dining table with chairs sits nearby, Nanny wanted to create a welcoming spot for meals. We connected home and the case by enchanting a door, so she can leave me cookies when I’m not with her. Once the feed is done I put it in a bucket and go to a separate freezer/fridge like room. I get the raw meat and fresh veggies, putting the food in a bucket. I walk to the door, after a quick breath. I open the door, my eyes are filled with the view of magical and non magical creatures.

Pixies and Billywigs zoom around as Flying Seahorses fly leisurely. Sparrows, Korean Tit, and Crows fly around as well. The giant dung beetle pushes his ball of dung, my Niffler, Lady, sits in her cave in the floating island with gold surrounding her. The Fwooper sits on its branch with my barn owl, I toss them rats. Several canvas walls indicate different areas, all enchanted. I go from area to area feeding the creatures and animals. The Grabhorn’s tentacles run over my face. I walk into the tiger area and get jumped on by multiple teen tigers.

I laugh,” I know, mama’s here.” They all nuzzle me. I snap and the carcass of a cow flops down in the snow part of their enclosure. That should keep them happy for a while. They stop nuzzling me and run to the carcass digging in. I walk to Finigian’s area, I take a breath and walk in, seeing the large backside I scratch it and soon all three heads turn to me. I smile and love on each head. After a couple minutes I let go and let him start eating. A loud roar causes me to turn,” I’m coming!” I walk past the Mooncalves staring at the fake full moon. “Fizzle! Nibby! Can you help me?” The house elf walks around a corner to me with a smile.

“Yes, Young Miss?” Fizzle speaks. My family had several house elves and are surprisingly loyal.

Nibby follows, holding a bucket,” Yes?”

“I told you, you can call me Willow.” I sigh. “Can you feed the Mooncalves and the other creatures?” I ask.

The two nod and Fizzle floats the bucket of Mooncalf feed into his feet,” Of course Young Miss.” The two elves happily go to work. I walk to an area, past the hatchery, I see a group of areas. On a desk close by is the open book with the growth rates of all the dragons who I hatched almost 18 months ago. I walk into each area and feed them, writing my observations down in the notebook. Each dragon seems excited to see me as I let them love on me for some time each. I leave their food and escape to feed more creatures.

“Willow! Dear, you have a letter!” I hear Nanny yell from the shack. I stand from petting the Pengriff, a mix of a penguin, polar bear, and bird. Using wandless magic fish fall into the water and the creature dives in to get it. Other creatures dive, fly, or swim to the fish. I walk back in to see Nanny getting loved on by the baby Musk-ox that seems to have wandered in the shack.

“Nalo, leave Nanny alone.” I sigh.

Nanny gently hits my arm,” Willow, don’t be cruel. Go read your letter.” She sits on the small sofa she had me put in.

“Yes ma’am.” I walk over and see the letter. ’HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY’ With the coat of arms is displayed on the front in the wax seal. I read it and gasp. “Nanny! This is my Hogwarts letter!”

She stops petting Nalo,” Merlin’s beard!” She gasps as well. “ I suppose this warrants a trip to Diagon Alley, go get dressed.” I run up the stairs and up the ladder. I make sure the case closes and run to my room.

“Achilles!” I call and he bounds into the room. “Protect the house when I’m gone.” I say seriously, Merlin’s beard I’m turning into a child. I change out of my ‘play’ clothes and put on a nice sweater and jeans. “I’m ready Nanny!” I call as I walk out.

The smile that stretches on her face is adorable,” You look just like your mother…”Her boney hand runs along my cheek before she pats my head. “ Let’s go.” I push the small button on the case and it shifts into a leather bag. I carry it out to the car with me. We travel to the leaky cauldron. I hold her hand nervously, god no matter what life time, I got bloody Anxiety! We go round back and Nanny taps the bricks with her wand. The bricks shift and move revealing the bustling street of wizards. Some people doing tricks while mothers drag their children around. We walk in and I hold her hand as we go around to each store. I catch glimpses of other students, I cover my mouth as I see Theodore Nott, I’ve never seen him young… woah. He’s kinda attractive, the fact I know he’s gonna be drinking by year six is crazy. I catch glimpses of red hair and see Molly dragging Ron followed by the twins into the robe store.

“Can we get robes now Nanny?” She nods and we walk over. We look around and Nanny helps me with robes and the plain back pointed hat. When we get our house chosen by the Sorting Hat house the representative animal will get magical embroidered on. We go to check out and Molly goes behind us. I look back and Molly smiles at me. I hide my face.

Nanny laughs,” Oh dear, sorry young lady. Willow is just shy.” The twins appear from behind her, snickering.

“No problem at all, it’s sweet.” Molly smiles. I smile shyly and look down. We buy our things and go from shop to shop. I freeze as I see a boy that looks identical to Tom Riddle. What the hell! How- what- I gaze at him, he really looks like a copy. Same features and hair. Next to him is a boy slightly taller than me with brown curly hair, but with the same facial features of Tom Riddle. As if feeling my eyes they both turn to me. I hide my face again quickly. Ahhh, Anxiety! We walk into Olivanders.

I manage to squeak out a “Woah…” I look around in pure awe at the store. I’m really actually here… I know I believed it before but really being here, in Olivanders… I’m really into my favorite novel. I run my fingers over the old wooden counter covered in things, my heart racing with excitement. The shop smells of slight dust, aged parchment, polished wood, and a faint trace of something electric, like static. Stacks upon stacks of narrow wand boxes fill the towering shelves. I turn to the sound of someone shuffling. The familiar old man with wispy silver hair and knowledgeable pale eyes steps into view.

“Ah,” he hums, examining me with curiosity. “A new student… yes, I was wondering when I’d be seeing you, Miss Mann.” I freeze momentarily.

I blink,“ You know who I am?” I ask him dumbly before my brain catches up. Ollivander’s lips curve into a knowing smile.

”Of course. I remember every wand I’ve ever sold, and I knew your parents well, they both broke their wands several times in school… But let’s not dwell. We have work to do.” He smiles before turning, gliding toward the shelves and plucking out a thin box. “Try this. Blackthorn, ten inches, dragon heartstring. Quite sturdy.” My hand twitches as I take the wand from him, a shiver shooting down my spine at the idea that this could be the one. The moment my fingers wrap around the smooth wood, I wait for a zap or an ethereal this is the one’ moment.

Nothing.

Ollivander swiftly plucks it from my grip before I can even attempt a flick. “No, no, that won’t do.” He hums thoughtfully, putting it away before rifling through another stack. The next wand is shorter, made of laurel with a phoenix feather core. I barely get the chance to wave it before a stack of papers on his desk bursts into flames. I freeze as Nanny puts the fire out.

“Oops, I’m sorry.” I wince.

Ollivander simply chuckles, already moving on,“ It’s alright. Fascinating… tricky one, aren’t you?” I go through wand after wand—rowan, ash, walnut—each time resulting in something either fizzling out completely or nearly destroying the shop which nanny fixes right away. I shoot Nanny a helpless look. I can’t be a squib, the figure… My wishes… She just pats my back, her warm, wrinkled hand bringing me out of my head.

“Nanny, what if-“ I start.

She cuts me off,” Dear, breathe. You just haven’t found the one yet, your father was the same.” All of a sudden, Ollivander stops in his tracks at the statement. His head tilts ever so slightly up, as if listening or looking to something beyond my senses. Slowly, he climbs up the ladder reaching for a box on the highest shelf, coated in a visible layer of dust. He brings it down with careful reverence before opening it.

“Try this.” His voice is quieter now, almost expectant. Inside lies a wand of dark, rich wood—smooth and polished, but with one slight natural knot along its bottom. The moment my fingers brush against it, warmth spreads up my arm, like sitting with the lion cub I summoned in the sun. A gentle, calming hum fills my ears, like a distant melody. “Ah,” Ollivander breathes. “Hawthorn wood… twelve and three-quarter inches… with a thunderbird tail feather core. Incredibly rare.” His eyes twinkle with something like excitement and another I don’t recognize. “Loyal, adaptable, but not easily mastered. A wand for those who walk between worlds, I’d say.” I barely hear him. The wand feels right, like an extension of my very being. When I give it a small wave, golden sparks dance through the air like fireflies. Nanny gasps.

I grin softly,” Thank you.” Ollivander nods, seemingly satisfied. “Yes… yes, I believe this is the one.” We leave and finish shopping. I hold the wand gingerly as everything is in Nanny’s bag of holding. I smile at Nanny, she hands me my Gringotts key. As we get into the car, I tap my hand against my bag and it returns to a case. I crawl in and walk down the ladder and the stairs. I walk into the library area and the wall of trinkets. “ Proprietas.” i say and hang the key up.

Only about 2 feet long, lives in forests. Dense, damp forests where fungi thrive. Often found in deep, magical woodlands. Primarily feeds on giant magical mushrooms, lichen, and fungi. Some believe it absorbs magical properties from its diet.

Alias: Spinta

Lives in Snowy tundras and mountainous regions, possibly in Scandinavia, Canada, or Russia. Hunts large arctic animals such as caribou, mountain goats, and arctic hares. It may also eat fish from icy rivers.

Alias: Washington

It’s known as a wishing dragon because its whisker is used in hallucinogens. Found in Eastern Asia, particularly in misty valleys, sacred temple grounds, and high-altitude forests. Carnivorous, but it favors rare magical birds and reptiles. It’s believed to have an appetite for creatures with magical properties, which may enhance its own mystical abilities.

Found in Volcanic regions, especially near active lava flows. Feeds on sulfur-rich plants and small fire-dwelling creatures. It has a unique ability to digest minerals, possibly strengthening its fiery breath

Found in deep river basins and enchanted lakes. Prefers fresh, clean waters rich in magical fish., Fish-based diet, including rare magical fish species. It may also consume water-dwelling magical creatures like Grindylows

Species: Ukrainian Ironbelly

Classification: XXXXX

Sex: Female

Alias: Inna

Native to Ukraine, typically in mountainous or rocky regions. It has been used to guard treasures, like in Gringotts. Large mammals, including cattle, deer, and occasionally humans if provoked. Largest known breed of dragon - up to 6 tons and capable of flattening stone structures with its bulk. Capable of incredible destruction when provoked - or when simply bored.

Sex: Female

Alias: Béla

Native to Hungary, often found in rugged, volcanic, or mountainous terrains. Sheep, goats, and humans if they get too close. It is one of the most aggressive dragon species. Widely regarded as the most dangerous of all dragon breeds - fast, vicious, and cunning. Known to attack even when unprovoked. Highly territorial. Other dragons often avoid areas claimed by a Horntail.

Hyper-aggressive - especially during mating season or when guarding eggs.

Found in Norway, prefers cold climates and mountainous regions near water. A Ridgeback's food of choice was large mammals, including aquatic mammals, such as whales, as well as land mammals like moose and deer. which was unusual for a dragon. Its eggs were black, and young Ridgebacks developed the ability to shoot flame earlier than any other breeds (around one to three months). Female Ridgebacks were generally more ferocious than the males.

Alias: Ffion

Lush, magical forests in Wales. Often spotted near ancient druidic sites. Its preferred to prey mainly on sheep and other small mammals and to avoid human contact altogether. The Welsh Green's roar was rather distinctive and somewhat melodious, and it issued its fire in narrow jets.
