PSA: Plagiarism and Stealing

this is actually thanks to @evanism88 or i wouldn’t have known about this 

Stealing is not cool. I have been patient and mostly calm about people stealing my gifs and my edits because frankly, I have been quite ignorant to it. I don’t follow nine percent accounts on twitter, it is solely my kpop news source so the only way I find out is when people tell me. 

I found out that there are twitter users who constantly steal tumblr gifs and edits and try and pass the off as their own. Trust me, I can recognise my own works. If you spend three hours on a single gif set, you’ll be able to recognise the editing and the colouring too. What’s even funnier, is using edits I have made with the watermark still attached. 

I’ve actually been told that my own gifs weren’t my gifs before. When I confronted a user on another site about crediting me for gifs, her whole entire friendship group instead decided to attack me and say that the gifs were from another tumblr user and that they ‘wouldn’t use my gifs anyway’ because I wasn’t a well-known enough blog to be noticed by them. c’lest la vie. 

I have been (in my opinion) kind enough to not watermark my gifs because I feel people are inclined to use them a lot more and would prefer to have a clean gif rather than one with a really obvious watermark in the corner. My graphics are always, and will continue to be, watermarked in the hope that people won’t repost as their own work. 

It is never okay to steal and repost other people’s works without proper crediting. It never has been okay and it never will be. I appreciate the love and support my work has received and I can acknowledge that a lot of people simply like them enough to want to use them. 

Please, contact me before using my work. If you feel awkward doing that, at least credit me when you repost. Literally, all I require is this: cr. caixukun-9 on tumblr

I have been lenient before with reposting but I will not tolerate this anymore. I spend hours making posts, often restarting two or three times, because I want to be able to deliver quality content for everyone to use. But, stealing my works is quite honestly an insult to me and to everyone who is a content creator here. It’s an insult to the amount of effort we all put into the posts we produce. 

Don’t steal. Don’t plagiarise. Always give credit. Please.
