Ya know, I thought I'd be mad or upset that Buck's first kiss with a guy wasn't with Eddie, but I'm really not. I am fucking ecstatic and overjoyed right now. Getting LGBTQ+ representation is amazing on its own, but MLM representation feels so rare in media these days and often times it's forced or oversexualized. But this? This feels absolutely amazing and it was played out beautifully. Evan Buckley is bisexual and that is so incredibly valid.

This is kinda revolutionary? Just a few years ago destiel was queerbaiting fans to superhell but now? NOW? A show saw the fans HC a character as queer with valid evidence and instead went "you know what? You're right. We didn't originally plan this for them but we see you". Then four episodes into the season, canonized his queerness. Not the last second, Not the last Episode. the BEGINNING of the season, with time to expand AND we know we're getting another season after this. Just look how far we've come.

Can we talk about the build-up to the kiss, though? From a screenwriting and setting the scene perspective, it is simply incredible. Predictability says that the knock on the door should’ve been Eddie but it’s Tommy. The way the tension sets in from the moment Tommy says that he’s not staying, and then seems to plateau when Tommy clears the air and says he’s jealous of the 118. It could’ve ended with Buck placating him about how he was a part of it, but the way the flirting and the eye fucking built so gradually until the kiss? Incredible scene, I want to study every frame and every line.

it’s not just buck.

i’m emotional about him but most of all i am emotional because this is… queer television history.

and we are lucky enough to see it. in real time.

i’ve always known it was gonna happen i have never doubted it but now that it’s here i am so so soft and i have so much love for everyone involved.

a traditionally masculine guy in his thirties(!!!) who spent six full seasons as a (presumed) cishet guy and started out as a fuckboy gets to… have this. gets to experience this, gets to breathe.

and we get to see it.

this has never really happened before. not like this.
