Some concept art for Sweetie Belle鈥檚 cutie mark! The top are more in line with canon and the bottom is more experimental!
#different colors for each of her possible looks#mostly i just matched with her ribbon#i tried to keep the basic shape of the shield she has in the og#i was thinking for the bottom row:#i saw a headcanon that she and rarity were#descended from ponies from the crystal empire and i really like that idea! and in the olympics episode#the cmc were shown at the ceremony so i thought itd be fun if her passion was linked to#the history and culture of the crystal empire#the shield with little plants and whatever is easily my least favorite#its just not attractive#BUT my intention was that because her third design looked so much like starlight glimmer that maybe the two took on a mentorship thing#and sweetie belle was interested in astonomy and magic#easily the most out of character but its an interesting idea so whatever#id like it more but id need to figure out how to incorporate the shield better and i just dont have that kinda time rn#the clam was taken from the idea that she and her sister are both attracted to and able to sense valuable materials#rarity snd her gems sweetie belle and her pearls#maybe she would have gotten it when the school opened and she went to visit the hippogriffs for sormthing#the color of the planets and shines on the pearl are meant to represent Scootaloo and AB respectively#mlp redesign#mlp g4#mlp fim#mlp art#sweetie belle#cutie mark redesign#planets***
