MEMORABLE EVENT: OUR MUSICAL PLAY (ENCANTO Disney Movie)
Tumblr media
Okay, let’s be real—putting together a musical is no joke. From the exhausting practices to last-minute tweaks, our CPAR performance task had me feeling everything: stress, excitement, chaos, and pure serotonin. But somehow, we clutched everything in 3 days and we managed to pulled off "Encanto" to the very end, proving that when you mix talent, teamwork, and a little bit of ✨magic✨, you get a moment that lives rent-free in our memories (at least some of us).
From lip syncing out emotional songs (yes, we definitely talked about "Bruno") to scrambling to fix last-minute stage mishaps, this musical had it all. This blog highlights—our highs, lows, and everything in between. Let’s dive in.

The Process: A Rough Start
The practice weren’t perfect. There were missed cues, forgotten lines from the main casts, and moments of tension around us. But instead of stressing over every mistake, I learned keep improving so I wouldn't get called out from our director and so the efforts of our practice wouldn't come to waste. The more I practiced, the more I connected with the story of "Encanto".
We had our Mirabel, radiating main-character energy; our Bruno (who, yes, we talked about A LOT); and every other family member bringing the Madrigal magic to life. Costumes? Love it. Props? DIY of course because of our budget. And the vibes? It's alright I guess.
What really hit different, though, was the teamwork. Yes, there are times where our director scolded us because some of us weren't being cooperative, or the time we had to go to school on Saturday just to practice for the whole day?, or just during the process was just full of rush, stress, anger, and tension. But I realized that CPAR wasn’t just about individual performance; it was about making something bigger than ourselves. We hyped each other up, laughed, and had a mini celebrate towards the end.
Performance Day: Showtime, Baby!
The moment we were in front of everyone inside the gym, everything felt surreal. The lights, the music, the energy—our hard work (Our beloved and hard working director, writer, choreographer and more) was finally going to pay off. Sure, there were a few slip-ups (I almost tripped over because of my skirt 💀 and some us forgot the next step), but we owned the stage and I had fun. I noticed the audience was vibing to the one of the songs, and even though the play of "Encanto" didn't really come to life that we've wanted at least we've enjoyed it.
Conclusion: A Core Memory Unlocked
Looking back, this wasn’t just another school project—it was an experience. I learned more than just performance skills; I learned patience, teamwork, and the power of believing in ourselves (and each other).
Would I do it again? if I had the chance to go back in time, I would  100% do it again just to maybe feel the thrill of performing in front and vibing to the songs. Would I change anything? Maybe.
But one thing’s for sure: our "Encanto" musical will forever be a core memory to me, and no, I am never going to forget about Bruno. 🫶🎭✨
