Also Marinette was an excellent girlfriend this episode and it's strange that the synopsis made it sound like she was barging in on the family reunion without anyone knowing.

This isn't a critique but it's strange that this episode's central theme was "Adrien should have agency!" and it had Adrien locked up in a trophy the entire time. Adrien wasn't even the one who pulled up Nathalie as his choice of guardian first until Marinette did. In fact the only thing Adrien was actively doing was trying to catch Plagg (aka the giver of Chat Noir who actually gives him agency).

It seems to me like the episode is lulling us into a false sense of security. The end of the episode seems to be "Yay, Adrien has a loving guardian again!!" But the flashback after the end card seems otherwise. Adrien's agency is still in danger, especially since the rings didn't have an amok and we were not privy to how it affected him after they were broken.

I had hope that this would be a ladrien episode for 2.5 seconds. Sigh.

But then why didn't an amok fly out of the rings? And it seems strange that they just vanished for a minute on screen and just appeared under Milli's plate. Were they switched out?

It's so fucking cool that in this scene her eyes are basically this grey-green color since this was when she was already sick and dying meanwhile Adrien's eyes are so full of color and life and love and I'm going to krill something. Something ends with me. Keep it coming.

Honestly the thing about Adrien’s s6 model that feels so odd to look at is that he LOOKS like he’s in an awkward transitional period. He LOOKS like he kind of doesn’t really know what to do with himself so his hair grew out a bit and he let it just get limp on his head because he’s paralyzed with indecision on what to do with it. He LOOKS like he awkwardly stands out among his friends who all got new styles and changed their appearances while he’s still awkwardly stuck in the past. He looks so much like how he did before but Not Quite, and that’s unsettling when every other character simply looks new. So while I can’t help but feel like something is Off every time I look at him, I’m also like… yeah. Yeah, that actually fits him perfectly for where he is right now. Trapped in a new situation that he doesn’t know how to navigate while his past haunts him. Trapped not knowing a single thing about himself while all his other friends move on.

So turns out Cerise is not only more secretive and sneakier than Gabriel, she also takes a more hands on approach with the emotional manipulation. This is def the best part of the episode for me.

Obviously I know it's too soon to tell but I wish they made Marinette's anxiety around Adrien have everything to do with keeping Gabriel's secret. They're probably playing it off as something she's repressing but it just feels too s3-esque antics for me rn.
