-Life as Ladybug-
When first becoming Ladybug and meeting Tikki, Marinette wasn't so sure if she's the right person for the Ladybug Miraculous and it should go to someone more confident than her. But when Ivan was akumatized into Stoneheart and Alya was nearly crushed by a car, Marinette was ready to accept her responsibility as Ladybug.
After saving the day and Hawkmoth making his speech about wanting the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, Ladybug of course can't let this happen and promises to protect Paris from him no matter what. Time passes on from that promise and as she's getting used to having a secret identity now, Ladybug quickly grew into a household name becoming the hottest topic since Adrien's modeling career. From everyone at school, around Paris, even celebrities talk about Ladybug. Not to mention Alya starting the Ladyblog with nothing but content about Ladybug and Chat Noir. So what's wrong with this one? Easy, the fact that there's times when Marinette uses her powers as Ladybug for personal gain.
In the episode Volpina, new student Lila arrives and told Alya that she was best friends with Ladybug, which Alya recorded and put on the Ladyblog. But this was a problem for Marinette set on the backburner, her real problem was seeing Lila talking to Adrien. Marinette was automatically jealous of her and saw her as a threat to being with Adrien. After following them around school half the day and letting her jealousy stir some more, Marinette learns that Lila also lied to Adrien about being related to a superhero to impress him. Then saying, "I can't lose Adrien," Marinette transforms into Ladybug and decides to embarrass her in front of Adrien. It wasn't really because she lied, it wasn't because she planned to put Adrien in danger, nothing more than because she wanted Lila away from Adrien. Even Adrien himself told her that was harsh, plus Tikki was disappointed in her when she transformed back into Marinette.
So whether it's rejecting Chloe's praise over her or her strong feelings for Adrien, Ladybug thinks too much as Marinette over what should be handled as Marinette, not as a superhero that needs to keep her vow to the city of Paris. Not the best looks a superhero girl like herself should be seen in.

-Adrien-
When it comes down to Marinette's crush/classmate Adrien Agreste, the show really gives the idea of him mostly being nothing more than a love interest for Marinette while constantly shoving down the viewers throats the infamous phrase, 'these two were made for each other.' Along with this, just about every other character says the same and wants to finally see them be together as a couple. But there's two main problems with this pipe dream: Marinette can't even form a complete sentence when talking to Adrien without fumbling all over herself and Adrien is way too oblivious to notice that she likes him. But what is it about him that Marinette likes so much?
In Origins part 1 & 2, Adrien was another new student next to Alya joining in Marinette's class. Seeing that he was with Chloe and Sabrina over by her seat, Marinette automatically didn't like Adrien thinking he helped them put gum on her seat. Adrien was upset she didn't give him a chance to explain nor want to be friends with him. It wasn't until later when the school day was over that Adrien could finally tell her he was only trying to take Chloe's gum off her seat and handed her his umbrella as she hesitates to reach for it. Ever since that day, after thinking to herself 'Hey, he's not so bad,' Marinette then goes from not trusting him to having a crush on him to becoming infatuated with him at the point of fishing for any bit of information on him she can find. Here are some things Marinette has done on the grounds of infatuation:
-Stolen his phone
-Made a copy of his entire schedule down to the last second
-Broke into his home undetected
-Bought gifts for him for any occasion possible
-Sabotaged any other potential love interest for him
-Tried to kiss him as a wax statue
The show wants to make these things (and more) look innocent and is being acted out by a doe-eyed teenager in love with a boy; in reality from a viewer's perspective, this is rather relatively creepy and off-putting to the point that many fans dislike Marinette and/or don't think she should be with Adrien. Even more so that not a single character in the show has ever called out Marinette on any of her actions that could put her in prison if this were real life. Plus worse comes to worse, her friends enable this behavior and follow through on any plans she has to set herself up with Adrien hoping he'll become her boyfriend, even when Adrien later got a girlfriend in Kagami Tsurugi. All of this but when asked why she likes him, Marinette will either say it's because he's pretty or he's been nice to her. It's like she's stuck in a bubble with this pretty picture of how she sees Adrien while having this thirst-quenching desire to make him her boyfriend and agree to a planned future of three kids and a hamster with no given name.

-School Life/Friends-
At her school, Francois Dupont College, it would be expected that Marinette would be the kind of girl that blends into the background of her class. But instead, Marinette is the most popular girl in her class and is friends with nearly every one of her classmates. This is funny to me because when it comes to Chloe Bourgeois, the mayor of Paris' daughter/residential mean girl, she's the least popular in the class and aside from Sabrina, nobody in school likes her at all. You would think that no matter how Chloe behaves, she would still be the most popular among her peers since she still comes from money, her parents are famous, and she always uses this knowledge to get what she wants. But no, she gets put aside and has her potential high status at school taken from her by the girl whose parents own a bakery with no customers seen in it. But why is Marinette so popular?
This namely all started in Origins Parts 1 & 2, when Chloe wanted to take Marinette's seat so she can sit not next to, but behind Adrien since he would be joining their class. Marinette didn't want to move but was also intimidated by Chloe; that's when another new student came over and defended Marinette and brought her over to sit with her instead. After sharing a macaroon and deeming Chloe as someone "evil," this new girl became Marinette's best friend Alya Cesaire. Then eventually everyone else in class, especially the girls, became her friends with the exception of Chloe, Sabrina, and later on Lila. Notice how she gained a friend let alone best friend through a mutual dislike of someone else, though. Not a mutual interest, not through sharing a class assignment, not even through sheer luck. All of Marinette's friends have this factor, too: A shared dislike of Chloe because she's mean and later to be matchmakers. As the series progresses, the only moments that her other friends aside from Alya are made relevant is either when it's an episode they will be akumatized in or to help Marinette set up a meet-cute in hopes of her becoming Adrien's girlfriend. All of them are definitely not staying friends by the time graduation comes around and they go to high school.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng: Main Hero or Main Problem?
In the series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir, the main protagonist is Chinese French teenage girl Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Marinette gives a small narration of who she is before the show's opening theme plays, but is she really just a normal girl with a normal life?
-FAMILY-
Marinette Dupain-Cheng is the daughter of Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng, a French man and a Chinese woman. Being centered in Paris, France as the show hails from, Marinette's parents own a bakery known as the most popular among other Parisians. As parents, Tom and Sabine are very supportive of their daughter's goals and dream of becoming a fashion designer and love her unconditionally. But is this enough?
While they do what they can to always be great parents to their only child, both parents also lack something necessary for Marinette's sake: boundaries. It's fairly noticeable in the series that neither Tom nor Sabine have ever given Marinette any boundaries or limits on anything she's done or could do. For example, they both know about Marinette's crush/obsession on her classmate Adrien Agreste and the pictures she has of him all over her room. Both have met Adrien on a number of occasions and even think Adrien is a well-adjusted kid, but there's never been a moment of them as parents talking to their daughter about how she doesn't need to grow up too fast an having a boyfriend isn't something she should just rush into; focus on herself and stay a kid for a while.
It's always made me wonder why it seems like Marinette can confide in her parents telling them anything she wants to but neither parent has ever reached out to her and talked about things that can be turned into life lessons. They could even help her save the day as Ladybug by giving her advice or a lesson on something that could be used when planning to stop an akuma. Good example to show Marinette is being raised right by her parents and definitely uses her brain to take down enemies as Ladybug or simply brave another day of school as Marinette.
