it's genuinely so funny to me when I remember that Gus's first impression of Jesse was loserboy junkie who smokes meth before business meetings and shows up antagonistic and clearly high lol. esp after getting to know Walter a little bit I know Gus was NOT sleeping on the fact that whatever Walt and Jesse have going on is just....not normal. like ok Jesse isn't his son or his nephew. he isn't a family friend. even on paper their relationship makes NO sense at all but then witnessing it right in front of you there's just no way Gus didn't immediately clock the psychosexual undertones lol. And Walt is so convinced he has everyone around him fooled, he doesn't even stop to consider how dangerous of a position Jesse's in as a result of all of Walt's loyalty and affection for him! How big of a target is on his head because Walt made it clear he genuinely can't function or work without him. idk it's just always so interesting when Walt and Jesse have to interact closely together in front of anyone else bc it immediately becomes clear how fucked up and overly intimate their relationship dynamic really is. Saul, Gus, Mike, Jane and even Skyler have ALL questioned their relationship to varying degrees because of the way they interact with each other. absolutely insane thing to write into the canon of your dudebro drug violence show lmao go Vince

the "Jane had to go" people pmo so much bc you guys are forgetting the reason Walt let her die in the first place: she was a threat to him. thats it. it wasnt to protect Jesse from her or whatever, it was bc Jane recognized his abusive nature so she blackmailed him with the very real things he did and it was a massive blow to his fragile ego. SHE was the one who wanted to protect Jesse, not Walt. she stood up to him -- even if it was for her own self interest -- and so shes somehow public enemy #1 right next to Skyler ... even though Skyler also hasnt done anything to deserve all the hate she's gotten

The way Walt’s arguably most unjustifiable and spitefully motivated murders are of Mike and Jane, the only two people who ever attempted to protect Jesse from him… other people also tried to take Jesse away from him, but Mike and Jane actually tried to get Jesse to see how fucked up the relationship was, tried to “turn Jesse against him”, and Walter absolutely loathed them for it, he killed them for it
