So maybe spending more than half the day trying to get her restricted powers to work wasn’t the greatest idea Mirai’s ever had, especially since they required her own blood. The mixture of her stubbornness and frustration at the whole situation did allow her to figure out the current extent of her abilities, but it also resulted in her feeling pretty anemic and almost passing out on her way to her place. As she dragged her feet along, she wondered about who her housemates were. She had yet to meet all of them since she spent most of her time exploring and trying to find answers, and while she was sure meeting them in blood stained clothes wouldn’t be the best of first impressions, she had no choice but to go home and risk seeing them. She had to eat something and rest.

Once she got to her townhouse, Mirai pressed her ear to the door, listening for any signs of life. To her relief, there was nothing. That was her chance! As soon as she turned and pushed the knob to enter, she felt a bump as the door made impact with something on the other side - or rather, as it turned out, someone.

Mirai let out a long sigh. This was the fifth time she had opened the fridge, as if opening it and staring at the sad looking contents would make something new appear. Her stomach grumbled loudly, aching for a good meal, but with few ingredients, questionable cooking skills, and currency she wasn’t familiar with, she had very few options. After another sigh, she carefully examined the fridge once more. There were some eggs and cheese, both of which were seemingly okay, so she finally settled for a simple omelette. It couldn’t be that hard... 

As soon as she closed the fridge door, Mirai immediately met eyes with a young girl who had been standing behind it and she jumped back in surprise.

“Oh, um- hello! Sorry, you can use the fridge now.”
